on the verge of burning out

Think about all the time you’ve spent studying—missing out on parties, turning down plans with friends, sacrificing so much just to get a good mark. Now, imagine ending up with an atar you’re not happy with, one that won't even get you to your desired course. Wouldn’t it feel like all those...

on the verge of burning out

Choosing what you like is quite risky, IMO. I chose subjects that'd boost my star up, since personally, l hate legal, bio and english, but these are the subjects l'm best at.

on the verge of burning out

Your last four subjects are on the lower-scaling side, so if you’re aiming for a 95+ ATAR, it might have been better to choose higher-scaling ones. But at this point, that’s out of your control, so the best thing you can do is maximise your marks. Aim for 90+ in all your subjects, especially...

Failed yr 12 term 1 english adv - drop to standard?

How many more assessments do you have? For us, we already did 1 (worth 20%) and 2 more 20% each, and one trials 30-40%. If its similar for you, you need to do a lot of work to bump up your mark, especially trials. Otherwise, drop it, not worth getting low band 5s and 4s overall.

Doing HSC subjects after sitting the HSC

Backstory: l want to do medicine back in X country. However, the country requires to have physics to be eligible to enrol into Unis offering the course. Problem is, l was forced to drop physics (due to being the only girl in a boy's class, and the fact that l'd have to take chemistry as well...

changing subjects in year 12 term 2

Try changing if you think it'll make ur atar better (which in this case, no doubt). But if you think you'll struggle w/ ext 2, then stick to adv.

Possible to retake a HSC exam of the same subject next year, but not have to be enrolled in that subject again?

Yes, to retake HSC. No to doing HSC next year. If you are planning to do the same subjects for HSC, you have to redo that subject, even if you already know everything. NESA states: You can repeat one or more courses within the 5 years without a penalty. Your RoSA will report the results of all...

90+ atar and first rank without tutoring?

It's safer to secure a 99 with tutoring. Some people ik r just smart, they don't study, and yet they are topping class (top 5). Others that are in top 3 got tutored from different centres. My point? While some people might naturally excel academically without much effort, many others rely on...
