true. first year maths favors maple (except for finance maths), but i was referring to the 4 years of engineering courses as a whole - we didn't use maple anymore after 1st year maths, whereas we use matlab a lot for all our other courses...
don't worry about starting mid year - you're not disadvantaged in any way. :)
like prosper said, you can always do some courses over summer and you'd only be 2 electives behind. i started in mid year too and did summer courses like prosper said, come 2nd year and all was fine.
you don't have...
KD is right. it depends on meeting certain standards - in the case of elec engineering, EE&T use their own method of calculating honors WAM which places more emphasis on the senior year subjects. for elec engineering,
WAM >65 = honors class 2 division 2
WAM >70 = honors class 2 division 1...
since when do ee lifts EVER work properly? lol :D
i say this to my friends all the time: "crap lifts in engineering - what does that say about us?!" :D
having spent most of my time in those buildings, i can't agree more! :D
that is the nicest thing i've ever heard anyone say about the ee building, lol.
back when i did phys1131 we had our midterm on a saturday morning with only short answer/calculation questions, which is still preferable since we get marks deducted for every incorrect answer in multiple choice questions (on all my core subjects except physics)...
