Commerce @ Macq - How can I PREPARE for this course?

I am a 3rd year law/com (accounting) student For me personally I didn't do Maths in the hsc and have managed just fine. Th Maths in accounting is pretty much add and subtract. But if you are doing straight commerce accounting there is a new course called prof accounting which I believe you...

    Uws law or maq law?

I transferred from UWS to Mac and I would definitely say Mac. People are more serious about uni life in general at Mac plus it is a better campus and so on. In regards to exposure to law, Mac has a internal mooting competition which is really good! The lecturers aren't to bad eg a lot of them...

Macquarie Law has so many vacancies this year. WTF?

It does tend to happen but wait until the late round offers. Usually all the places get filled up and the ATAR goes to about 98. They pretty much dont offer as many places as they know that for the people who missed out for law at USYD, UNSW and to a degree UTS will end up coming to Mac. That is...

    2011 University cut offs

Technically they should have offered you the same course again today (correct me if I am wrong) so if the uni didnt offer you that course, you should have received your next best offer.

    2011 University cut offs

You are supposed to get offers. Did you change the preferences around eg the course you got in the early round wasn't your 1st preference was it?

Post your 2011 University Offers here

Im surprised that SMH didn't provide the offers online like last year. Is BoS going to do the "see who is in your course" this year?

    Degrees sorted by difficulty

It is a bit boring in all honesty lol As long as you aren't an international student, you should do well in it. I am doing accounting and I think it is pretty good. It provides you with career progression and focus. It is also provides more opportunites then some other majors eg just go to...

    Degrees sorted by difficulty

Management (from what ive learnt from my management subjects) involves pretty much just theories and concepts eg memorising theories by different composers and applying them to case studies. A lot of it involves case studies. It is actually interesting howwever very dull at some times. You can...

Completing combined law in 5 years afer transfer

You will most likely have to do summer school if you want to finish in the 5 years. At Mac you now have to do the people and planet units to graduate (they are pretty much two random subjects that are unrelated to our degree). Also, the law degree credit points have changed and you pretty much...

Law at Macquarie or UTS? (plz don't bring UNSW or USYD into this, thankyou)

I was in the same boat as you last year. I chose Mac because it provides more of a university lifestyle. Pretty much for the rest of our lives after finishing our degrees, we will be working in the city and in office buildings. I know this may be a minor issue to most but I believe you must...

Commerce isn't as easy as people are making it out to be. If your majoring in management or marketing then perhaps it may be however, some people find that hard eg absorbing a lot of information and regurgitating back out. Im doing a law degree and find it a lot easier then commerce!
