    T/F between unis

Hey guys. I was unsucessful in my application for UNSW med; instead offered a place at Monash. While many people have told me the advantages of Monash Med (length, rep., etc...), the decision to move to Melbourne will put undue financial pressure on my parents. What is the exact process of...

    Argh. (Monash)

They asked me an 'obscure' question bout sumfin I read up abt (with regard to AMA policy) - got lucky. N-e-way I didnt get UNSW, and I considered that interview as my best...

Anyone received late round interviews yet?

Yep....Got it today. P.s. any1 sick and tired of seeing that every second person who got over 99.90 wants to do medicine ("or something around medicine" - a.k.a. i might not get in the first round so i'll be a bitch and persist) - the competition is lethal!

    Another photon energy question

    A quick way: Rhf = BhF R/B = hF/hf (F - blue frequency; f - red frequency) [let f=c/w] R/B = w/W (W - blue wavelength; w- red wavlength) R/B = 600/450 = 4/3 (1.333...)

    plank or einstein

Lets remember that in the end that both men catogorically rejected quantum mechanics as a whole theory. Their interpretation of quantum theory is different to the developments of the early quantum mechanics. Planck, in addition, is the father of quantum theory because he ultimatley was the...

    michelson M. question??

Anecdotally, however, we must consider that when Einstein deemed the Aether model obsolete; he was unaware of the Michelson/Morley result - and made aware of it subsequent to his famous paper.

    Silver Button Cell

    Yes Anode: Zinc Cathode: Silver Zn -> Zn2+ + 2e- Ag+ + e- -> Ag Overall : Ag2O + 2Zn -> 2Ag + 2ZnO Electrolyte: KOH

    diaphragm, mercury and membrane process

They shouldn't ask for equations directly - when they ask to describe the each process; what you add should be dependent on marks. Marker's comment 2004: "Better responses used equations....."

    2003 HSC Paper

I dont think you should be worried. 2003 was somewhat difficult becos you had to use a shotgun method on every q, as each q was way too generalised. But i think, with that said, if you can learn the main points and ur pracs; with regards to chemistry and social issues - you'll be fine.

    steps to alleviate ozone problem

I guess it is good to be thorough, especially when teachers find it hard to guess the marking criteria of qs. Quick Tip: If you DO NOT write your answer with two or three signifigant (no more, no less); you will be marked wrong....(bs eh?)

    steps to alleviate ozone problem

I concur with serge. You list the proposals (e.g. ceasing the production of haloalkanes by 2000, etc...) and asses or evaluate HOW it allieviates the ozone problem - not a historical examination of these proposals. Besides, the 87 montreal initiative is the definitive global examination of...

    diffraction vs crystallography

I believe that X-ray crystallography, the study of atomic crystals is based on x-ray diffraction - the wave phenomena which allows such analysis to be possible. X-ray crystallography is a technique in crystallography in which the diffraction pattern of maxima and minima which is produced by...

    Yes, thats right...

    mr heisenberg

He was also the first scientist to suggest the possibility of a self-sustaining fission reaction and create a mathematical framework of quantum theory. He led the nazi efforts to create an atomic bomb. And serge, he was also mates with Fermi and Bohr... at least b4 WWII...
