Our school uses About Science, but we hardly use our textbook so I don't know much about it, especially when compared to other texts.

We have SC then exams then work experience. I don't have work experience placement yet and I'm seriously freaking out. x|

I'm a Muse fan and Twilight is pretty much based on a bunch of Muse songs [+ a few other bands]. It's pretty unoriginal, really.

Why would this affect you? If that's want you want and you want a high atar, don't worry about practical subjects. My school doesn't offer any practical subjects in year 11 and 12 and we do fine.

^ wtf? you're not allowed to do Standard at our school unless you absolutely fail yr 11 advanced. Our trials are next week. We only found that out today. Just goes to show how much our school cares about the SC :]

I don't know, I hate Linkin Park. I cover my ears. I'm with klaris though on The Outsiders, it's a really, really amazing book and a very easy read.

^^ I do 5.3 at the moment [everyone at our school does 5.3 unless you're really, really, really bad at maths] and I'm absolutely failing it and dropping down to general next year. May as well do something I can get a decent mark in.

If you've been doing a language up to year 10 and you don't mind, continue with it. Languages are a good skill and they also scale reaaaally well. Or you could do a history, or Eco or something similar.
