If your school is under the EAS list you shouldn't need to apply for it again. If you have personal circumstances you're able to apply for those separately but the school thing was automatic for us last year. Worth bringing it up with your careers adviser still.

I don't remember the exact time, but last year BDO took a while, like I lost count of how many weeks, I should have asked what the turnaround time is but I highly doubt they've "forgotten" about your application.

That might come across as a bit desperate, it's better off waiting in my opinion. Edit: There was a huge delay between the people who got told they've made it to the next stage and those who didn't after the video interviews in 2014. I know that because I waited ages for that rejection :P

That won't be the case with everyone though, that friend probably said the right things to impress the rep who may have already been in a good mood, however the point is that if the friend didn't have a LinkedIn account they wouldn't have even gotten that opportunity.

A friend told me that this year at the EY info night they were chatting to a HR Rep and the rep said to connect with them on LinkedIn after they had applied. Stuff like that can do you wonders.

Would recommend that people go, it's a great way to get answers for a lot of those questions you may have.

Awkward moment when I accepted my mini-phone interview whilst on an excursion at parliament house... Didn't know when they asked "Are you available to talk?" that they wanted to ask me a bunch of questions...

I absolutely hated the video interview stage for applications. Its really awkward as you can't assess facial expressions or body language since there's no interviewer.

I think the plan is that they'll have people email in applications directly but whether or not that's started I don't know.

I don't think PwC has actually opened up its applications, however I may be wrong.

Look into recent news articles regarding business and economics, a lot of firms have the tendency to ask this just to see if you're up to date with recent events. This screwed me over for one of my video interviews, I spent the 30 seconds of prep time quickly Googling a news article, not a good...

It's better than no email from most the accounting firms. :P

Apparently at the cadetship night they said they'd be running applications/marketing for it through social media and have you directly email in applications, something like that. We'll find out in due time :P
