    transmission question

If I remember correctly, the source was 508kV, and the input was 500kV with resistance at 40 ohms, so thats a loss of 8kV. use V=IR to find I, so 8x10^3/40, I=200A then sub I into P=I^2R to find power loss which was 1.6MW

    Section I - Multiple Choice

Im quite sure thats back EMF, and to find EMF is simply d*flux/dt, no negative
  3. M

    Section I - Multiple Choice

14 was B, remember emf is change in flux over time, we can see for the first bit it is increasing, so our emf graph should be positive at the beginning

    transmission question

    It was 30kW lol
  5. M

    transmission question

    I got 1.6MW loss in B, whereas C was 3MW and A was 20MW

    Section I - Multiple Choice

20 is A, We want a semi-conductor which is capable of detecting the whole graph, as such we try HgCdTe - 0.03 Ev, and multiply it by 1.602*10^-19 to find it in joules, then use E=hf to find f use f in c=f*wavelength to find wavelength which is 4x10^-5 m or 0.4 micro-metres as oposed to InSb...

    Section I - Multiple Choice

Nah thats fine, but idk if they take AAA, my teacher said to write "Equiangular" but i dont see why they wont accept 2 angles

Its up, look on the board http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=293673

    Section I - Multiple Choice

Could someone explain 8, I was pretty confident with C but people are getting A, Why?
  10. M

    Section I - Multiple Choice

what? use the roots thing so alpha + beta = -b/a and alpha * beta = c/a

    Using board approved calculator

Oh well, a super calculator like a ti wouldn't be too useful anyway, considering the amount of working out that needs to be shown

    Using board approved calculator

I doubt you could smuggle in a Ti-83 without getting noticed, but i remember my friend had a chinese fx-83 which looks exactly like the 82, but had a table function which actually let you compute the roots of equations. I doubt the supervisor could tell the difference between the two

    New format

apparently its MC from q 1-10, then written for 11 to 16. I dont see why it will be more difficult to get a band 6

2011 Ruse 2U Maths Trial solution

why don't you post it so we can have a look
  16. M

    What question

So question 1-10 are 1 mark each, and 11-16 are 12 marks? so there's 82 total?

Who is in the same situation as me. Doing a one night cram for economics.

Re: For question 28 I didnt talk about microeconomic policies? comments I think we should stop worrying about what we should have written of what we could've. Its done now & we will get the marks that we get. Lets look to math now or whatever you have next

Who is in the same situation as me. Doing a one night cram for economics.

Re: For question 28 I didnt talk about microeconomic policies? comments So you didn't talk about monetary policy? The question asks for economic policies that furthered Australia's economic goals, which includes other things such as what the RBA does for price stability
