    Did I prove this right?

Nope, schools around rank 300. Got a friend doing the same thing though, and someone did it in the year above me. It's weird.

    Permutations and Combinations Question

I had different working but got the same answer so I'll post my working as well. I didn't really explain it well so if anyone wants me to explain it I can. Here's the working: http://m.imgur.com/BFyRvzg

    Re: HSC 2016 3U Marathon Instead of 1/root(1-x^2), I got 1/root(1-sin(x)^2). Where did I go wrong? http://m.imgur.com/EO9hlOt

    Polynomials question

Hey guys there's a question that I keep barely getting wrong, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Question: http://m.imgur.com/YVgWQ9S Instead of getting 1/24 in front of the stuff for a2, I get 1/12. Any help would be appreciated.

    For those entering Uni

Hey guys... I think I found it https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/96/High_School_Mathematics_Extensions.pdf 250 pages and has discrete probability, matrices, complex numbers, prime etc. Sounds about right.

Re: MX2 2016 Integration Marathon Are you doing your hsc in 2016, but have been tutored a year ahead?

    HSC 2016 MX1 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2016 3U Marathon Well I don't have an answer to the latest one (yet :)) but I finally did part g) of the other question. You just let d = 0 and the area is root(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)), and the property of being a cyclic triangle is not required because every triangle is a cyclic triangle.

Re: HSC 2016 4U Marathon Ah, so does integral pretty much just mean they are integers? Yeah I was confused why it was wrong that I wrote rational, now it's clear, thanks!

Re: HSC 2016 2U Marathon Yeah, I could tell there was a better way, just thought that if I've already proved it there's no reason to do it again.

    Re: HSC 2016 4U Marathon At school so no pic: a) x^4 + 6x^3 + 11x^2 + 6x + 1 b) (5^125-)/(5^25-1)=5^100 + 5^75 + 5^50 + 5^25 + 1 I let 5^25 = x x^4 + x^3 + x^2 + x + 1 = x^4 + 6x^3 + 11x^2 + 6x + 1 -5x^3 -10x^2 - 5x =(x+3x+1)^2 -5x(x+1)^2 =(x+3x+1-(x+1)root(5x))(x+3x+1+(x+1)root(5x))...

Re: HSC 2016 2U Marathon Ok so I haven't gone far in integration, so I may do a little bit of research but here is my answer to first bit: https://m.imgur.com/u9s89zo I think I may have skipped a bit in the 2nd to 3rd line of ii), so let me explain what I did. So as cos(90-x)=sin(x)...
