this isn't for me, I did the 5.3 course in years 9 and 10, but I found it a bit curious how people in 5.1/5.2 in my school wanted to do extension maths when they found their course difficult.

If a student was doing 5.2/5.1 mathematics course during year 10, would they be able to do extension 1 maths in year 11/12 since a school isn't allowed to stop a student doing a subject they want?

I'm curious on how busy your life gets once you get into uni? I know a guy who has 2 casual jobs, a full time job, does part time uni, party heaps and still keeps up with his hobbies. I've been thinking that once get into uni i'd do the same, but how hard is it?

not necessarily, achieving a rank in the top 10s in all subjects will get you an 85 easy. Atar is a rank not a mark :)

Definitely looking at ~97+ because of previous attainments of the number of band 6s in your school but dont hold me on that haha who knows what could happen next year or during externals

For those who did English standard in their HSCs what atar did you get? and what subjects did you take?

Around top ~40+ school I assume? I mean, I know some schools are lenient about their classes but not for EVERYONE to do advance English...

Just do it. It never hurts to try ext 1 maths, id say that dedication takes you further than basing off how well you do in year 10. I did acceled course and since i was acing year 9 and i absolutely hated it, i had no motivation and dedicated little time to it resulting in coming pretty much...

How useless is a formal in year 10 and one more in year 12, like you're going to be with these people for 2 years, you're not even celebrating anything major and its not like you're going to get in with anyone. Thoughts?

I've pretty much had a teacher that taught me jack for the whole year. mathscape is a really good book if you want to study because it pretty much gives you all the formulas for all the topic and makes you think a bit further.
