    i got a) 3 - 2iroot3 =, 2cis (pi/3) and 2^24 b) A = 4, b=-3 and c=-1 c) (z+2i)^2 - (3i)^2 = (z-i)(z+5i) d) 2/15 e)x^2 - y^2 =< 4 I used wolfram and it said that for e) you had to shade the region outside of the curve x^2 - y^2 = 4. But i shaded the region between the curve and the asymptotes...

    HSC 2013 Maths Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 2U Marathon Lol, thats what i thought at first. But the answer says it 2/11. Since you know at least one dice is definitely a 5, the total possible outcomes are : 1,5 2,5 3,5 4,5 5,5 5,6 and 5,1 5,2 5,3 5,4 5,6(dont count 5,5 again) Since only 2 outcomes are favourable the...

    Predictions for Extension 2 Maths

Hope its hard too. Last yrs was pretty nice. If last question is integration that'd kill most people. The by parts questions take forever.

    Predictions for Extension 2 Maths

    I thought it is in 3U. Here's an example from 2001 hsc. acceleration = -4x. find x as a function of t if x=3, v = 6root3 when t=0. Wouldnt your first step be to use v (dv/dx) = -4x and integrate?

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive AdvantageS: - The BL theory recognised the importance of the ionising role of the solvent in determining the acidic/basic character of chemicals. Hence it could explain why hydrochloric acid is strong in aqueous soln but weak when dissolved in other solvents...
