not quite true. although u should do the subjects u enjoy doin neway, harder subjects will naturally always be scaled higher than others. (eg: mathematics will scale higher than general maths). this only applies to the calculation of the UAI though and not the HSC

yes u would round down. its a good idea to test for k=3 and k=2

i reckon it was about the same. will probably be 5 marks shorter than the raw marks needed for band 6 last year tho

i dont see wat the big deal is. if ur averaging band 5's or 6's then ur pretty much guaranteed a UAI of 80+

bascially if ur doing well in questions 1-5 then u pretty much are in the late e3 to early e4 range

actually better correct myself. it was actually more close to 70%. In 2001 a 45-54/84 was aligned to around 45/50. In 2003 a 18-20/84 was a pass and aligned to 25/50 i got this info from the UAI Technical Arcana forum. See Lazarus's article on raw marks
