    Uac & Stat

Easier than the book. It’s much easier than you think it might be and is easy to get a score above 150. You get your results 2 -3 weeks after the test.

    accepting two offers

Re: Question about offers I guess, I didnt think of it like that (silly me). But yea, defer both then I guess.

    accepting two offers

Re: Question about offers I guess you could as QTAC and UAC are not connected or anything? They would never know..... but at the end of the day that’s an extra place that someone could have?

    Main Round offers??

They say accept it. In later round you will be considered for any of your offers that are above your accepted offer on your list. You can accept your offer in the main round and then move your preferences around after also so you might get an offer in the next round. If you...

    Main Round offers??

But you guys are lucky; you have a good idea if you are getting in or not based on your UAI. I’m 24 so going as mature age via STAT, even though I have my STAT score the Uni doesn’t tell you what score you need, so I have no idea if I have a chance or not. Even more annoying is that I...

    Main Round offers??

Service stations usually have the paper at about 8 or 9 pm the night before.
  7. M

    Main Round offers??

Well the fact that we haven’t been able to change our preferences since last week shows that the process already started and by now they know who is getting what offers. I don’t see why they can’t just let us know and get the wait over with! Also, why is the date so late this year...

    Information on Accommodation

Just curious, when do most people move down? Like a week before orientation? A few days?
  9. M

    accepting two offers

Re: Question about offers No, they are separate. You can accept your QTAC offer and still get a UAC one. A lot of people are accepting QTAC offers and waiting for UAC ones. Although if you get a UAC one and accept it, make sure you withdraw from the QTAC one so it can be offered...

"Uni Grades are completely irrelevant to employers"

We took a lot of people straight out of Uni. Grades were not looked at. Obviously most “internships” are taken on a temporary basis specific to their degree with the hope of staying/getting a permanent offer once the degree is finished, obviously for a program like this usually grades...

"Uni Grades are completely irrelevant to employers"

“Internship” being the important word here. There is a difference. 5 years working in finance here and overseas, with two of the big banks here doing interviews we never looked at the grades. We looked at the Degree (if they had one/needed one for the position), their experience...

"Uni Grades are completely irrelevant to employers"

I think it depends, but mostly I would say no. I have been working in Banking and Finance for 5 years (only now actually going to go to Uni and get a degree). Whenever we interviewed people we never once looked at their grades, depending on the position they were going for we looked if...

HSC at TAFE: what age group are most people?

The TPC does Math's, Biology, Chemistry and Physics - at HSC level. When you get the TPC subject sheet it tells you what is equiv to HSC, for example, LALS A + LALS B = HSC English, Foundation Mathematics (A) + Advanced Mathemetics (B) = HSC Maths (there are different levels of Maths you can...

HSC at TAFE: what age group are most people?

Why not do the TPC instead - it's 1 year instead of 2 years and it gets you into Uni, plus when you apply for Uni you won’t be competing against every HSC student. The HSC classes I have seen at TAFE seem to have mostly just teenagers. I did the TPC, I’m 24 and did it last year, people in my...

    Uac & Stat

They automatically get notified of your results so don’t stress. I did my UAC in September and my STAT in October and mine still says STAT TEST TAKEN – NO STAT TEST DATE – 2008 I panicked thinking they didn’t get my results and they said they automatically get them so don’t...

    Information on Accommodation

That happened to me, I emailed them and they fixed it. Just email them.

    TPC help!!

PS: Although the Uni’s in NSW, ACT and QLD don’t convert your STAT to a UAI, WA does convert it to a TER (WA version of the UAI) and going by their conversion a STAT score of 152 is a TER of 75.3 This is the link to the calculator TISC Online

    TPC help!!

It depends what Uni you applied for. For example in WA at most Uni’s you need a score of at least 115 on the multiple choice STAT and a score of at least 145 for the written English STAT. Most Uni’s in NSW, ACT and QLD won’t tell you what score you need but the ones that did told me...

    accomodation offers?

Just check accommodation status online, it will show if you have submitted it correctly. You will find out on the 21st/22nd if you got your accommodation and which one you got. (You have the guarantee, just depends which one of your accommodation preferences you put down on what you get)

    Open University

It’s true. You can usually do your degree quicker also or you can take your time and take up to 10 years – it depends on you and how many units you can do. You do get a real degree and it’s not an “Open University” degree, for example if you do the Bach of Business you graduate with...
