Past papers for business & eco

You can do papers from the 2000s, but keep in mind they wouldn't have content about the Fair Work Act.

HOW DO I MAKE NOTES FOR ECONOMICS??

    1) Take your economics syllabus, note down the relevant dot points for what you're making notes on 2) Using tables/headings to sort content 3) Essentially, you are trying to note down information that has theory, examples that prove a point or idea, and other things you need to remind yourself...

Should I be reading my prescribed texts in the holidays?

More specifically, should I be reading my text for the common module in these upcoming holidays? Is it worth doing so or just focusing on other subjects?

    Top 10 Easiest HSC Subjects

I would say some of the VET courses like Tourism, Retail Services etc. But apparently you also need to a placement during your senior years, which isn't exactly going to help your other subjects.

    Top 10 Hardest HSC Subjects

No one gonna talk about music? They play excerpts a few times and then you have to extrapolate instruments, tone colour, texture (wtf???), do a whole english extension level analysis, notate bars and whatnot. That truly is an innate skill.

    Going into math EXT 2

If you're just starting it, don't dive right into papers and questions -try and learn from the textbook progressively. Extension 2 is a hard subject to try and learn independently, so if you want to save time when the term starts I reccomend learning the Extension 1 course by yourself instead.

    99.95 without extension 2 maths

The ATAR is the end result of scaling, moderation, alignment and all that other jargon. By definition, the dux is the top-scorer in the cohort, therefore the one with the highest ATAR.

What is the new 2024 curriculum

    Thank you for clarifying!

What is the new 2024 curriculum

Seriously this. We've barely accumulated past papers to the 'new' (2020 hsc) math syllabus and at some point in a few years it's going to be useless.

What is the new 2024 curriculum

The new stage 5 electives look so weird (I listed them below). Like, which faculty does 'philosophy' or 'critical thinking' come under. There's going to be a lot of new staff training I'm guessing. Big History Critical Thinking International Studies iSTEM Outdoor education Philosophy Psychology...

HSC Delayed till 9th Nov, Schools Back by Oct, ATAR 20th Jan, Uni Offers from 26th Jan, SRS from 12th Nov

I know it's almost self-centred of me to ask right now, but what do you people imagine will be the effect of covid on 2022 hsc students? I can't even compare it to what 2020 and 2021 students are facing, but am I likely to go through any major hurdles?

To the people who are saying cancel the HSC Exams.

Be like my school when they cancelled the athletic carnival - you wanna get into zone go the staffroom and put your name on a list (no questions asked) Basically tell everyone that to get into med, you have to just sign up on some online portal, first come first serve

    Cancel some of the HSC?

Idk I feel like 5 units is a horrible idea. Imagine doing 13 units for only a third of your effort to be counted. Imagine having mandatory english take up 40% rather than 20% of your ATAR calculation. How do you even prioritise just 3 subjects? In a year where HSC students have had their...

    Cancel some of the HSC?

I thought it was bad enough that NESA makes english mandatory. Jesus christ, NESA is really showing their flair for bias. Although this article is only speculative, so hopefully this won't happen.

    chem/phys b6 difficulty

Looking at Talent 100 data, 7.8% of phys students get 90+, but 0.8% get 95+, so expect 1 95+ for each 10 scores of 90+ in physics. 10.5% of chem students get 90+, but 0.8% get 95+, so expect 1 95+ for each 10-15 scores of 90+ in chem. All numbers here are HSC marks btw. I think it's safe to...

    EDROLO

Quite useful in my opinion, a good supplement to the textbook and class resources, and it has good practice questions too. If the school paid for it I definitely recommend you use it.

How much do the gaps in ranks matter when averaging out assessment and exam marks.

B gets 70 externally but 95 internally. Their internal rank is 2nd, so their internal mark assumes the 2nd highest external mark. C gets 70 internally and 95 externally. Realistically this would never happen because what are the chances the highest external marks are 98, 95... and then 70...

    Lockdown extension

No worries, I wasn't desperate, just curious. This thread is pretty active so I'll probably get an answer anyways.
