I thought Bernake's introductory microeconomics textbook was good..

i found 111 harder than 110 because it differed more from the HSC course. All the producer theory (cost curves etc) will be new to you, and getting your head around the concepts may take a while. tips: dont memorise the graphs, actually understand them.

the "workshops"(tutes) in econ111 are great. I think if you attend them you really wont need to go to PAL. If possible attend michael dobbies lecture and workshop, he is a great introductory microeconomics lecturer.

Best way is to get to the lecture late so it looks like you cant sit anywhere else, and you havnt intentionally tried to pick up this chick. (bearing in mind no1 is sitting next to her). Say something like have i missed anything then introduce yourself. lol i remember in my first year first...

i got a 93 in HSC so my essays must not have been to shabby! -Do an essay plan before you start -intro -key points. backing them up with graphs is great -i always concluded it.

Re: Semester 2 Timetable yes the unit outline will tell you if there are any prescribed texts for the unit.

i havn't done econ240 but michael dobbie and craig macmillan are amazing economics lectuerers. you did good in 100 level econ, 200 lvl econ is a big step up but from looking at the lecture topics i think you should be fine if you study hard.
