There aren't pre-requisites that I know of; but be sure that you are up to the commitment. Make no mistake; Extension English is a very, very challenging course and you should only do it if you like writing & love reading. Advanced English will scale better than Standard given that you do well...

year 10s - get into a bit of a study routine now; because when you get to year 11 it's gonna hit you like a freight train.

its... you have to be in class for 4 out of every 5 days a week. so 4/5ths according to the head teacher of english. as long as you attempt the course well, do all the required work & assessments, you can't go wrong. =)
