    Best Economics Textbook

Tim Dixon's 'Australia in the Global Economy' simplified a lot of the concepts so to make it simple to understand. It has a greater emphasis on recent statistics and trends, and examples. Tim Riley's textbook on the other hand goes into the more complex concepts/underlying basic theory. Less...

    burnt out

I am semi burnt out after the half yearlies, somehow I wasn't intensely panicing during teh exam periods as before. But rather took them one by one as they came. Is this normal? or a sign of something negative...? :(

    Economics scaling?

4 good booklets? The best, best & best I can do for 1 extended response in any subject is just 5 pages of the normal yellow BOS booklet. (They aren't mega writing btw) :uhoh: What is with people writing 12,13 pages? Our trusty leading edge book nevertheless lays a good foundation. Tim...

    choosing subjects for Year 11

Choose what you think interests you. Trust me, it will make the year 12 journey much more enjoyable.

Is getting <50% common in chem or does my school just suck??

Could be. But again, you go to a selective school, so that maybe why. I am interested to find out as well, but I doubt 30% raw aligns to a Band 4 for external HSC.
  15. cs01001

    Economics scaling?

True, need to integrate information from different sources especially for extended response. A solid underestanding of textbook is also needed.

Is getting <50% common in chem or does my school just suck??

What ranks/external HSC marks do you need to get a band 5 in Chemistry?

Is getting <50% common in chem or does my school just suck??

Well, last year for the final Prelim exam, under 20 people passed out of a cohort of 85. The average was around 33% or something like that. Speaking of chem, I just had my half yearly. It wasn't as hard as i thought it would be, but maybe could've done slightly better. At least no major...
