    Second thoughts about studying law?

There's no harm in starting a combined law degree and dropping the law bit if you find it too dry. If you drop law after first semester or first year you are only down 3 or so subjects. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do law, but decided that I would give it a go - and I really enjoyed it in the...

    Help with timetable?

Sorry not sure about business but for law - the 2013 draft timetable for law subjects is available on the law school website here http://sydney.edu.au/law/cstudent/undergrad/docs_pdfs/2013_LLBTimetable.pdf It won't be much use without knowing the times for the business subjects, but it will...

    Uni timetables

There are pros and cons for both though... UNSW system doesn't work so well for electives and such though. At least at usyd if you pre-enrol you are in the subject. Whereas at UNSW you sit there frenetically trying to enrol in the right classes - and if they fill up in 2 minutes that's it :( if...

Which law school is easier to transfer into (internally)- Usyd or UNSW?

I had a friend transfer into law at usyd a couple of years ago - no interviews. Edit: also USYD has no distinction between internal or external law transfer - everyone whether already at usyd, studying law somewhere else or studying anything somewhere else is in the same boat. UNSW has a...

no idea what to do at uni

I think it can really depend on the person, and I also think it is very difficult to get an idea of what law is like until you are doing it. I never thought I would do law, but got the UAI for it, and thought perhaps I should try it (the idea was that if I didn't like it, I would drop it and...

    Noob Questions

I think (i may be wrong here) that geography falls under science, so it's in the 'Table B' (other faculty units - follow the link on the page you gave under semester 1 table B) under 'environmental studies' . Exchange will generally not be done in first year - applications are usually due...

Which pathway to get into law is best?

It depends what you are good at and what you enjoy. Some people struggle with commerce, others struggle with arts subjects like history or philosophy etc. It's a very subjective question as to what you will do well in (and no one can really guess that for you). My advice would be to do what you...

What do i need to bring with me to accept offers while overseas?

If you get a USYD offer you just need to get someone to enrol for you (ie a proxy). I did this and it was fine. Just make sure you fill out the relevant forms (on USYD website) and tell the proxy to subjects you want to enrol in. You will need a TFN as well - thus is for the Hecs forms.

    How many places?

I dont know exactly how many people are on each atar cut off however there aren't just nsw atar people starting combined law. There are also international students, students from other states, possibly mature age students, and I'm not sure about this, but there may also be some form of bonus...

    Living on campus?

The best thing for you to do would be to look up some of the on campus accommodation at the uni's you are interested, look at how much it costs, and then calculate if you could afford it - most have it on their websites. On campus accommodation can be very expensive. If you are looking at...

Which pathway to get into law is best?

Options 2 and 3 are pretty much the same - if you go do arts at usyd, then apply for law at both unsw and usyd and if you get both, then consider which one you might like to do (you never know what will change in 3 years). Other things to consider when picking university - distance/public...

    LLB or JD?

The United States calls their law degree a JD. So in the sense that in the US a 'JD' as a name might be more familiar to some employers, then that could be accurate. However since both have the same subjects, if you are seeking formal recognition for your degree overseas or in the US (ie. with a...

im going overseas 20th of January till 20th of February am I missing any important

Re: im going overseas 20th of January till 20th of February am I missing any importan Depending on the university, you either enrol online or go into campus. If you are required to enrol on campus, and you can't be there, you need to appoint a proxy. I was overseas when enrolment needed to...

Does my GPA/WAM transfer with me if i change unis?

It would depend on what purpose you are seeking a GPA/WAM. Generally when you transfer, subjects you have been granted credit for from a previous uni will appear on your new transcript, but won't have a mark. And if you are calculating marks for honours etc, then generally uni's will only...

A Day In The Life of a Law Student

I don't know anything about UNSW transfer so I can't help you with that (and other posters seem to have a pretty good grasp of how UNSW transfer system works). So just as a side note, I know you were asking about UNSW, but if your WAM isn't as high as necessary for UNSW, and you have a high...
