    well i cant really comment on you personally cause i dont know the subjects you do, but hsc phy / chem is basically rote learning that can be done out of a textbook..maybe ask the teacher on 1 or 2 dot pts now and again but generally you learn the stuff on ur own

    having bad teachers is irrelevant, good teachers arent essential at all to succeed in the HSC; motivation is the key (although having a good teacher, especially in maths can be an inspiration)

    difficult is a relative word, alot of it is circumstancial, if you can do question 7's with confidence it will be alot easier to do them than get 72/72 in the first 6 parts of 4u (imo), majorly due to calculator / sign errors etc etc

    i origionalyl typed all 3 and it didnt work, so when retyped qn3 i left a few things out..also after reading the entire post i found the much better way of doing it i think you mentioned..of equating the sum / product roots etc to get alpha cubed = 1 :)

    :) took me a while to get, see if u can.. i) a group of x + 4 men and x women sit around a circular table how many possible arrangements are there if no two women sit together ii) suppose two of the men cannot sit together now, how many possible arrangements are there?
