That logo will work for your first year, in subsequent years you need to go to student central to get a sticker. By the end of your degree, there will be quite a stack of stickers on your student card :)

I think homestay is a great program if you get a good family. Some families I have heard are very strict and uninviting. Although I have heard some horror stories from host families too. If you want to try this, be prepared to realise it is different to just paying for accommodation and food...

When I was there, you can just park in Campus East without a permit. At least I always did. You need a permit for the uni though. However, I'm not sure if students can apply for a permit. I think they restricted that to staff only... unless rules have changed. Otherwise, you have to pay at...

I had a 5800, it is pretty functional if you can stand the poor keyboard. Compared to the blackberry, I would say it has a better web browser and more applications. However, for messaging/email the blackberry is superior.

hmm.... ok i'll fix that tonight. These notes are of the oooooollllddddd syllabus though so treat it as that. There are some bits which are useful though.

If you did not do Ext 1 and did not do a bridging course, I would not recommend 187. However, if you do 187 and fail, it is not the end of the world. you can do 161 in Spring and 162 in Summer. This is equivalent to 187 and 188 I think.

Engineering in UOW is not bad. The programs are designed to be more practical than most other unis. In terms of finding a job, UOW is doing pretty well, almost 100%.
