    HSC2005 Question

When the examiners proposed the question they didn't want anything to do with the moon. Why? The were talking about the statement, which had occured after the travel around the moon, so it was irrelevent. They were refusing anything to take anything to do with the moon. As everyone was going...

    Measuring resistance - variables?

In a basic sense: Independent=Voltage Dependent=Current Ensure you turn the circuit off between measurements, so there isn't heating effects. Be interested in the results for a motor over time as the voltage measure across the motor and current will drop as the motor starts to move.

    Urgent!! Formulas in test!!

You need to look at the syllabus and understand  explain the concept of escape velocity in terms of the: – gravitational constant – mass and radius of the planet So to explain escape velocity, you need to define escape velocity and then from there develop the equation for escape...

    Urgent!! Formulas in test!!

The a= equation is a modified version based on F=ma. It could be examined as you are supposed to be able to analyse the changing acceleration of a rocket during launch in terms of the: – Law of Conservation of Momentum – forces experienced by astronauts

    Assessment Marks...hElp

You should have an assessment booklet from your school that tells you what assessment tasks you will sit and how much they are worth. Your ranking is important but so is your assement marks as the spread of the marks also plays a part in determining your moderated assessment mark. The...

    Hodson Motor

I'm not sure how you would obtain unequal coil numbers if you are making the single coil motr. The biggest trouble is making sure the commutator is orientated correctly and makes firm contact.

    project

From past experience. Piezoelectric effect is something most schools can't demonstrate, except with cheap peizoelectric transducers that students can't see the changes in but most students can understand the principle. Students understand the doppler effect by moving a source but little...

    Generators generate anger :(

Sadly incorrect as well l is the length of the wire in the magnetic field. 0.4/l=sin45 l=0.4/sin45 F=BILsin(theta) =0.5*3*0.4/sin45*sin90 =0.849N The sin 45 is used to find the length of the wire. The angle theta is the angle between the wire and magnetic field. The wire is in...

What the hell is going on

That is done by UAC not BOS. BOS has nothing to do with UAI

What the hell is going on

BOS has nothing to do with UAI, sp they do not decide if its satisfactory. However, they do publish the perfomance descriptors that say if you are of Band 1, there is no requirements of the course you have completed.

    UAI calculation

In the calculations no but it may effect your performance as a student in terms of study, motivation, competition etc. The ranking and gaps in rankings are important in determining your moderated assessment. So aim for the highest ranking and as big a gap from the people below you as possible.
  15. H

    Is this possible?

Rankings are done to decimal points.

big difference between assesment and body of work marks?

Happens each year. The BoW is based on a final product. The assessment is based on the performance over the year. Some people are good at working to a final deadline but are not consistent. On top of that it depends on the skills and processes each were marked on.

What the hell is going on

Bio and English are below the state average, so in the lower 50%. The MAths is in the bottom 10% so would have really dragged you down. IT and IPT would have held there own but the maths would have been the major problem.
  18. H

    suspicious

Do any of your teachers have marking experience? A few years a similar thing occured to a North Coast school in English and what happened was the teachers lacked the experience to mark according to the standards and people expected a lot higher marks than they achieved. If a box of books went...
