Help with particle accelerator dot pt plz

identify the ways by which physicists continue to develop their understanding of matter using accelerators as a probe to investigate the structure of matter Thanks in advance guys, I've only read stuff about how they are given kinetic energy and fired at target, is this meant to simulate...

    Neutralization as a safety procedure

    I think you meant sodium Hydrogen carbonate HCO3- + H2O --> CO3 2- + H3O+ HCO3- + H2O --> H2CO3 + OH-

    Neutralization as a safety procedure

generally when we talk about chemical spills, we are talking about the container trucks, carrying the higher concentrations, because in school labs, they are diluted heaps. So if you have spilt a large amount of high concentration NaOH, you want to keep the heat liberated to a minimum...

    tricky question

Well you need to comment on how the anode would need to be inert, like graphite, platinum or titanium. Otherwise the cell will act like a galvanic cell, and the anode will react in the cell. Then put in equations and comment on the reduction potentials of the different substances - Chlorine...

    Question about geometry reasoning

thanks fellas, basically i just draw an angle to write angle, draw shapes to express trianlge or quadrilateral, and maybe i'll write equi or isos in a rush. --jetfan--

    Sulfur and Nitrogen

I wasn't sure if we needed to know how to measure smog but I read an article on how they measure ozone levels, they shine an ultraviolet torch thru a tube of the test air. The amount of light that passes thru is recorded, kind of like AAS. I'm not sure if this applies to sulfur/nitrogen tho...

yeah, thats what my process is, it is a model of a chemical equilibrium, should be fine

    Sulfur and Nitrogen

*Describe, using equations, examples of chemical reactions which release sulfur dioxide and chemical reactions which release oxides of nitrogen. Just a simple roasting of Sulfur in air should suffice for this i think: S(s) + O2(g) --> SO2(g) - this is used in industrial plants and the...

    A dot point Qn?

Yeah, the transuranix elements are your best bet, talk about how they are formed through neutron bombardment etc. Also comment on how they are very unstable, do not exist for long periods of time, also the newer periodic table have named some of the unununium elements, and I think 108 has been...

    Question about geometry reasoning

just a question for people who have done/marked geometry questions, are you allowed to shorten your reasoning, i.e insted of base angles of isoceles(sp?) triangle, can you write base /_'s isos. /_\. If you know what I'm talknig about, feel free to comment

what is ln? in fns, never come across.

yeah ln is log to the base e, when you derive it you get1/x, you cant integrate it, but if you have an integral of f'(x)/f(x), the answer is ln[f(x)] + c. But if you're in yr11, you'll get to this next year.

    Modelling an equilibrium

well we performed a fairly good one. What you need is a 10mL and 2 mL pipette(i think thats the one, its the one with a tap you use in titration.) What you then do is get two measuring cylinders, fill one to 100mL, leave the other one empty. Then you turn the 10mL upside down, put it in the...

    Modelling the Solvay Process

We did the heating of sodium hydrogen carbonate: 2NaHCO3 --> Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2 Because you are using a delivery tube, the top has a robber stopper, and because you are heating with gaseous products, there is an issue of pressure buildup and the top flying off, that is hy you need to heat...

    Industrial qs

Well I did both pracs so here it is: After the oil was initially added, you had two layers, the oil and the water, with the emulsifier mixed in, then after shaking for one minute, you still had two layers, possibly a third because some soapy froth may form, after 5 minutes, there is usually two...

    Othello Critical Analysis

Dramatic features I've done Othello for module A and although we did not study dramatic qualities, my best guess would be more the acting and the type of dialogue. You would look at stage direction, character introductions and it can never hurt to discuss tehcniques; alliteration, repetition...
