HSC at TAFE: what age group are most people?

Many of the subjects they offer are combined prelim+hsc in the 1 year, meaning it doesn't matter if you have or have not done year 11 before. I think this is why all other tafes don't allow this. They think its too hard for people seeing you're doing all the work in 3 terms opposed to 7 terms...

HSC at TAFE: what age group are most people?

Randwick tafe allows you to complete 10 or more units in 1 year just like a high school. To my knowledge it is the only tafe that does this.

    HSC @ Tafe '09 :)

It really depends on how the subject timetables turn out. I withdrew last year because of this, and most likely there will be 4 clashes with my subjects or something similar again.

    Early entry ramifications

Since when has being smart had anything to do with attending university?

    Probably stupid questions.

technically 0.00 is the lowest uai, and it goes up by increments of 0.05 until 100

Private Schools will dominate UAIs of Public Schools. Discuss

Selective schools like Sydney boys/girls are public schools.

is it bad to do 10 units?

The people who do 12+ units that say get over 90 would still get over 90 if they did 10 units. "Better" students are more inclined to be interested in taking on more than the minimum but it in no way is the reason they get said uai. Sure you can say that you don't have a safety net, but if...

    Notre Dame

a disadvantage = less subject choices

sorry for another uai/hsc marks question.

You keep your own exam mark. Its your internal mark that gets moderated by ranking. So yes you would still get 96 for the hsc exam.

    High rank = immunity?

Thought it would be pretty obvious that if you get a shit exam mark, then your final mark, as a result, will be worse. Its true, however, that in a sense you are immune to other people doing bad (as long as you do good), but definitely not to you yourself bombing out in the exam.

Future Plans: What ATAR/course/job are you aiming for?

Re: Future Plans: What UAI/course/job are you aiming for? Yes, really. Unless I change my mind.

Future Plans: What ATAR/course/job are you aiming for?

Re: Future Plans: What UAI/course/job are you aiming for? Personal goal: Minimum 98, ideally 99.9+ University: Comm/Eco @ UNSW, 95+ Job: No fucking idea. I plan to work for myself. Yes I'm an 06er doing the hsc again in 09.

Completing the rest of my HSC at tafe

Depends what you're aiming for. First of all, what do you mean by OK marks? If you're wanting to go to university, then it might be better to redo it all if you need a fairly high UAI and your previous marks aren't that good. There's no guarantee you will do better, but that's up to you. If you...

    Uai?

"The admissions process is multifaceted and goes beyond a single score. The University of Notre Dame Australia requires a minimum indicative UAI of at least 70 for most general courses. Some courses such as double degree programmes and the Bachelor of Laws require a higher entry UAI. For further...

    HSC at tafe questions

    1. only at randwick tafe i believe 2. yes, as long as it states it is an intensive course (which the vast majority are). ie it teaches preliminary and hsc in the 1 year 3. they're not open yet, enrollment days etc are in January. you have to attend individual tafes for these. i can't tell you...

    Transfer Q's

Yeah for the past 2 years I have been under the impression that my UAI will forever haunt me. This suggests otherwise: So unless I'm misunderstood, if I get a D/HD average (assuming I can get into something), I should get in...even with a UAI of 46.25??

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

it doesn't imply lack of intelligence either, although flaunting it in a public forum isn't the smartest thing to do

Can the school reject you/kick you out from a subject?

They're not supposed to, but in reality they can, as bos won't really interfere with a school's jurisdiction in this matter. You should, however, still try and take it up with them. If you persist enough, I'm sure your school will budge. Unfortunately OTEN (distance education) does not offer...

Well, from my own experience, I can say that statement is true. :)

    Repeating the Hsc at tafe

I may be wrong, but from what I understand Randwick TAFE is the only one that will let you do 10 or more units in 1 year. So unless you want to be stuck doing it a 2nd time over 2 years then that may be the "best" TAFE for you. HSC @ TAFE starts at the beginning of the year around when schools...
