    Inertial reference question

Righto. I did say, Yeah I see what you mean now though. Laser detector and data logger etc. I plea half asleepness. But you still technically wouldn't SEE it moving in a straight line.

    Equation of a curve question

Find the equation of the curve through (-60,18), (0,0) and (40,8) presuming it is in the form y=ax^(2n). Answer is y=x^2/200 I tried to make simultaneous equations, but it didn't seem to work for me. Heh, I'm stuck again.

    Inertial reference question

From inside the plane, I would have said that you can't even see if the coin falls at all really, other than perspective... You'd be looking straight down on it and it wouldn't look like it's moving, so you cannot detect your own motion either, without external reference points.

    Don't know what I'm doing...

Ok... must... start... Encountered problem 1: I need to choose between two characters (which means scenario 1 and 2 respectively). 1st character has, I feel, a more interesting scenario. However he is much harder to think of anything for. I would prefer this character, if I could construct a...

    Don't know what I'm doing...

Thanks for your help. :) I shall certainly try your suggestions, and hopefully will get somewhere. At the moment I was thinking that a theme would ease the decision making process, but was unable to come up with one. Seems like a little procrastination trick now that I think about it...

    Don't know what I'm doing...

I have a concept, but no ideas for plot or character. Really it comes down to a decision, but I can't make that decision. Far out! My idea's not even good to start with... at this point everything seems unworkable. Why can't the teachers just tell me what to write? I seriously can't do this...

    moley moles

This is what I know (or think I know) about moles. A mole is an exact number of atoms, Avagadro's number to be precise. 6.022*10^23 atoms make up one mole of an element, while 6.022*10^23 molecules make up one mole of a compound. If you have the mass (grams) of a substance, you can...

relativistic speeds and return to stationary

Just taking the mass dilation effect as an example... Near the speed of light the object (from a moving frame of reference) will have a real increase in mass, but when it becomes stationary again, it returns to 'normal' mass. Correct? So where does the mass go? I know where it comes from...

    How to begin journal...?

I know I should have started this already, but I haven't. I don't know how to begin. Seems like such an ominous task. The first word of the journal... how can I start it? We did writing tasks given to us by the teacher first, but so what? To me it feels like it needs an intro before launching...

The process to make sugar from biomass

Wish I'd read this before my exam today ><! I bet the other chem teacher went through it... he wrote the test. No one to blame but myself though. :bomb:

    lead acid cell

Well if you apply the general 'how it works' from any electochemical cell, I'd assume that's how it works. So there's a reaction between the lead anode and the sulphuric acid, which is the oxidation reaction. Here's where the electrons come from. They travel through the external part of the...

*sigh* I don't want to go to mine tomorrow. Too bad for me I guess. Waste of time in my opinion... but oh well. I know what I'm getting, but I'd rather be preparing for remaining assessments...

    Fermentation experiment

chi-es (if its not too late lol) - A test for ethanol is fractional distillation of the products (ethanol comes off at about 70 degrees), then you can test by combustion, smell, or using acidified potassium permanganate as an indicator (decolourises from purple to clear). dhampoet - From the...

    Login process to internet

LOL yeah! Mine was some fruit I'd never heard of. Forotten it now. Perhaps it was a conspiracy to educate people about "healthy" food. Actually no, it was part of a covert DET operation - a signal to the kids that have been conditioned by DET to respond to fruit names, releasing a plague of...

Molar heat of combustion of an alkanol

You have to do each object separately. The spirit burner has nothing to do with it at the moment. Use mass of water with specific heat capacity of water and temperature of water to find ΔH water. Same goes for the beaker (although you have to use temperature of water for this one as well...
