Most of this is just tech spec stuff, and the Wii is an improvement over the GC. I don't think it can be caught between generations, it's either next-gen or it isn't. I also don't think you can draw the line and say "ok since Wii can't do this, it's not next-gen", but I obviously can't argue...

In that respect, isn't every game the same thing? If pacman and donkey kong were just pattern memorisation, why haven't tons and tons of people finished the game? You can't predict the fireballs on donkey kong or the ghosts in pacman. And you couldn't take advantage of motion sensitive controls...

No, they're great games because they're fucking impossible to beat and give an insane amount of gameplay. Two people in the world have beaten Donkey Kong. Your last point would seem like a point for HDTV, not consoles

Yeah and half of those aren't even exclusives. You can play Brawl online. And Virtual Console > XBL Arcade Like I said, anything re: graphics is unimportant to me as long as the don't totally screw up the gameplay. Gameplay is everything, to me at least

Graphics are pretty unimportant to me, Donkey Kong is fucking awesome. Plus when you have Smash Bros the small catalogue is pretty irrelevant. And the small catalogue still defeats 360 range of games.
