yeh i did TBP, it was a really good book, tough to read, but a good book! :p related material...fight club, but i am biased in its favour. there was a link somewhere in the RFTG sticky at the top. it had a list of related materials.

so thats all you read of my post :p ;) j/k i agree with you, you cannot say someone is dumb/smarter with the level of maths they do... scaling/aligning/etc are all extrenal factors, if YOU do as well as you can in whatever subject you do, you will be rewarded with the mark you deserver, may...

i'm up for it! have you had a look at the exercise book from the 'old' syllabus, pre 2000? it is full of maths...quite difficult maths too... lol :lol: so did i, but when i read the DP i realised :p

i agree that the problem is getting way out of hand. all the "pollution", as ms 12 put it, definitely is a big turn off for me. since this time there would be a large influx of new members, i dont think it is the best image. its a good idea. :)

yeh i asked the same quesiton.:D well you are only supposed to do 3 out of 5 texts, so they cant really specify a text, as that might be the one you havent studied, out of the 3 that the school chooses. so yeh, i am only going to choose 2 out of my 3. BUT, i'm not officially sure.

i dont think the point of this thread was to have a go at general maths students, or vice versa. vancarbus' post was a little misinformed. the top mark in gen maths was very similar to that of in 3u or 4u maths, or most other subjects for that matter. but then as your rank in the state...
