    implications of mass increase

Yeah, I mentioned that the distances in space would contract, making the distance shorter- but again, I don't believe this is true -> i think it was in the sample answers for this years independent paper, but how knowledgeable the people who write thos eexams are is anyones guess. In any case...

    implications of mass increase

Mass increase - as the spacecraft increases velocity the mass increases makign it mroe and more difficult to accelerate the spacecraft, until the relativisitc mass becomes infinity at the speed of light. Hence like you said, you cant travel fast enough Length contraction (apparently) makes...

    No Calculators? WTF?

If you cant multiply two numbers, you shouldnt be in high school, let alone year 12 lol Its just that it takes time. I do agree its a silly rule, but like ppl have said above, the calculations can just be left unsimplified

    Physics 2004 HSC Exam

Remeber also that all objects fall at the same rate regardless of mass, neglecting air resistnace. Therefore a 100 kg anvil will fall at the same rate as a 1 g feather. Both will have the same impact velocty when dropped from the same height. Also remember that satellites that are in orbit...

    Question

Do we need to know how, say, carbon actually hardens steel? In the Success One book they have this massive description of the crystal lattice of metals and how carbon atoms can fit in and slide or some rubbish, lol, do we need to know it in that much depth?

    Sideways Parabola Question

y2 = 4ax x = y2/4a dx/dy = 2y/4a = y/2a y/2a = 0 y = 0 (since a>0) I think thats how you would do it. Or I might be completely wrong lol Try the parabola (y-1)2 = 4(x-2) The 'stationary point' or whatever you would like to call it, where the gradient is infinity should be the vertex...
