Repeating year 12 is the worst thing that you can possibly do unless it is something you truly want to do your self, not being forced by your parents. You have to be highly self motivated and determined to do better if you repeat.

ATAR Aim: 99.95 (Not for USYD Med!)
94+ in English and state ranks in maths and physics.
I agree with you. Being in a high ranked school has many advantages such as a more competitive environment, usually better teachers, if you don't get rank 1 in every subject your not fucked etc...
But if you couldn't get into a high ranked school for whatever reason doesn't mean you can't...
Hi,
I always wanted to do medicine at uni mainly because my parents want me to do it because it is "the best" etc... but I don't like it, I am very interested in Engineering, physics and maths and the course I am thinking about doing is BE/BSc at UNSW or BE(R&D)/BSc at ANU.
There are many types...
We can't tell you if the subjects are good or not, it depends on what you are good at and what you enjoy. I did biology last year and I was ranked 40/40 lolol I hated it so I dropped it but I enjoy my current subjects a lot.
Be consistent, study efficiently for about 6 hours per day, make notes...
I haven't got 99+ ATAR yet but these are my answers:
1) Study about 8 hours per day then sleep for 8 hours.
2) Very dedicated. I enjoy studying, especially maths and physics.
3) To-do lists, this way I know exactly what to do. Make them detailed and get everything done.
If a student is ranked 1 in every single subject at a low ranked school and does very well in the externals is there anything preventing him from achieving 99.95?
Ok, I get what you mean, I should just focus on the MX1 and MX2 topics and then after I learn the topics very well I apply the techniques to harder questions.
The problem is that there is no topic in MX2/MX1 that directly covers real analysis so my only option is to just do as many past papers...
I noticed that almost all the more difficult maths extension 2 questions are either analysis or proving so how can I effectively improve at those? Maths extension 2 textbooks don't really cover those topics* very well so which textbooks are good? Should I consider buying university level...
I am aiming for about 94 in English Advanced so can someone please give me some study tips. At the moment I am neglecting English and concentrating heavily on maths and science but I typed some numbers in the ATAR calculator and looks like English is really important, I can get 90 in maths ext2...
Hi,
Is doing very well in maths ext2 enough preparation for BSc if I want to major in maths/physics?
Many people told me that maths at uni is all about understanding and proving things so they suggested that I go through the velleman book which is a proving book, others suggested that I go...
