Far out Dawen, didn't realise you got a 99.95, grats brother! I would highly recommend Dawen having studied with him before he's a great speaker, and very thorough and coherent when explaining concepts!
This is very similar, It's a combination of both the product rule and chain rule, that is with the 2nd product (4x-11)^6
So this is the exact same, except when you differentiate v you use chain rule
v = (4x-11)^6
dv/dx = 6(4x-11)^5 multiplied by 4 (the derivative of whats inside the brackets...
So we know the product rule is vu' + uv' right?
u = x^2
u'= 2x
v = x^3-2x+5
v' = 3x^2-2
therefore dy/dx = 2x(x^3-2x+5) + x^2(3x^2-2) expand then simplify.
Hey guys kinda stuck on this question ending up in deadends.
11) P is a variable point on the parabola x^2 = -4y. The tangent from P cuts the parabola x^2 = 4y at Q and R. show that 3x^2 = 4y is the equation of the locus of the mid-point of the chord RQ. Question is from exercise 24(c)...
Re: Already regretting my subject choices for next year... 5 HOURS AFTER I HANDED MY
Dude most schools give you like 1st 2 weeks back to change subjects if you really aren't liking a subject, chasing up tomorrow will be fine I doubt your school will reject your decision to change.
You got enough time, especially if you can finish it before 3 hrs, usually me and my friends took about 1 hour and half to complete 2u past trials, even though we do 3u but you should to even with 3 hrs per paper. If you do like 1 paper per day you do all 5 within a week easy, gg.
Extension 2 maths would be useful as it does come up in Engineering however you do learn the stuff in university anyway so it isn't required however by doing 4u it would give you a slight advantage.
