LOL! i know what you mean. My cousin (when i went overseas) asked me for help on his maths homework (he's about 4 years younger than me) and it was stuff I was starting to learn and he knew more than me T.T A tad embarassing especially after he felt the need to point out to everyone that he was...
This is a long shot, and i'm not saying what they do is in anyway good, but maybe they're preparing themselves so that there is no possible way you can disappoint them? And so whatever your UAI, they'll be over the moon because they expected you to become a hobo. Highly unlikely but hey.
mhm :p she might realise her mistake at the end of year 12, or...maybe not. I like her mum though (and SHOCK HORROR) she's not asian :p So that's a stereotype as well, that it's only asian parents who put ridiculous amounts of pressure on their kids
LOL, we laugh about it - it's actually hilarious looking back now. Anyways she's one of my best friends and we wouldn't let a little *cough* parental pressure get in the way of that would we? Her mum hasn't given up on me being a good influence yet though (so naive lol)
Soo awkward - I didn't know whether to run out of the room, tape the parents' mouth shut or just fall over laughing at my friend's face. Ended up doing the third :p Still, it's like watching a car crash in slow motion - you don't know whether you should try to stop it or not or even if you could :p
