Just out of curiousity, what'd you guys include in your portfolios. I found it really difficult to try and include a heap of different stuff in only 12 pages, so yeah, I'm interested in what others used.
I ended up going with a 6 page excerpt from my Extension Two major work, a little one-page...
I was really happy with how I went in this section - although I realised after that I got how she actually died wrong, but hey, that's what positive marking is for! And yeah, the second question was fine. I managed to six pages out of it, which I was really happy with.
Considering how much I stressed about Paper two, I'm pretty much thrilled with how I went. I aced Bladerunner and Frankenstein (touch wood) and I think I covered a fair bit with 50th Gate. Only thing that will met me down is Hamlet - the question was a bit, although I still managed 6 pages.
I got unconditional into UOW, and yeah, it definitely affected my study a fair bit for the few days after I found it - but then I got my ass back into gear, and got back into studying.
As far as taking the pressure off in the exams? I really thought it would, but it hasn't. I guess I still want...
It's not a question on not reading what's in front of you. It's a quesiton of the HSC being pretty much on the most intensely stressful periods of your life leading up to this point, and with English being the first exam for a fair few people, I'm not sure the only one who nerves got the better...
Yeah, I used two related texts, cause I'm an idiot. I accept that its my own fault for not reading the question, and I just think that it's been drilled into my head all year that we have to use two, so I went ahead and assumed two. During reading time, I could see everyone around me smiling and...
Yeah, me and two of my friends applied for Creative arts (two of us for Creative Writing) and are still yet to recieve any form of notification on interview dates and stuff. I wanna hurry up and find out, so I can get a move on with sending my portfolio down...
Yeah, the paranoid side of me is saying they'd already decided not to give me an offer and thats why they didn't take a look through it, but the rational side knows that I'd included everything in my application.
All i know is that I really can't focus on studying with this hanging over my...
Yeah, I got the email about the mistake the day after as well. I was deadset running around in a mad panic emailing my careers advisor, calling UAC, trying to call UOW. But it's all cool now.
See, they didn't even look at the CV thingo I spent hours putting together. I mean, everything in it was already in my online application, but I figured that they'd want to have a quick look over it, to at least make sure I wasn't making stuff up to try and sound better. I just don't know why...
Yeah, this wait is really starting to kill me. I went for something in Arts as well, except my interview was on Thursday. I really am not expecting to find out until Friday - Thursday at the earliest, seeing as though there were probably a massive amount of people who went for Arts.
They told me I'll find out within two weeks of my interview (last Thursday), and it'll be through an email, and then a follow-up letter.
Naturally, I'm not expecting to find out until next Thursday....
