Yes you can do MedSc from UNSW and then Graduate law. This will be the same as doing it together (via combined law) but obviously it will take longer if you do the two degrees individually. You can still go into patenting where you help scientists patent a certain idea, invention or other forms...
Then I think you should go for law/BSc and try undergraduate medicine after 1st or 2nd year. Perhaps even graduate med. If you don't get in, you still have your law degree while doing science and picking the subjects in medical science.
There is no difference between someone from a top school who is ranked last and gets 50 in the HSC exam and someone from an average school who is ranked last and gets 50 in the HSC exam. In both cases, the end result is that the person will get the lowest HSC exam mark (50) as their assessment...
If the lowest exam mark is 50 and you are ranked last, you will most likely get a mark of ~50 as your moderated assessment mark, irrespective of what your cohort gets.
Yep I know what you mean. I personally hate BIOS1101 and Genetics myself. But luckily, none of the 3rd year courses are that bad. Those two are the worst courses I've done in 4 years of my undergraduates.
Microbial genetics is really fun (nothing like 2nd year genetics) but it's a difficult...
From my understanding, I think there are two separate pools of applicants. They first considers all applicants with the highest UAIs (points from HSC PLUS not included) and gives out offer to these applicants, the lowest UAI to be accepted becomes the published cut off.
Then, there are reserved...
No. In your case, you are ranked equal first, not outright first. Therefore, the top internal mark is the average of the two highest external marks, which happens to be 45 (possibly an average of 47 and 43).
These are all very good questions so I will try to answer them as best as I can.
I'm on a Cambridge international scholarship funded by Cambridge uni.
I know I am interested in a career in research way back in 2nd year after finishing a summer reseach scholarship. I knew it would be great for...
I don't think it is a joke - it provides the basics for understanding research.
I think it's also less intimidating than putting up "Bachelor of Science (7 years)" in the UAC handbook. That would turn most potential students away from doing science just to prove that it will take that long...
You apply for a scholarship when you apply for admission. There is one section within the application form dedicated just for that. These scholarships are obviously specific to that University and you compete with everyone applying to that University.
As to how much marks matter, you probably...
Have you considered just enrolling in a Science degree? You probably don't need to re-sit the HSC if you decide to apply for a general BSc. You can do one year of Science and ty to get as high a WAM/GPA as possible, then apply for a transfer into undergraduate Medicine provided you also sit the...
Well done on getting an offer. I really hope you will enjoy the course. Do take most of the opportunities that will be presented to you - always apply for summer research opportunities, participate in those extra voluntary activities and get involved with the university and what it has to offer...
