I was thinking about getting English rechecked but then I realised I went terribly in the HSC exams.
I say go for it, if you don't mind that there's a fee you have to pay.
Was your average HSC mark higher than your ATAR or was it the other way around?
For me, my ATAR was close to 10% more than my average HSC mark. This is probably mainly due to the fact I did Extension 1 and 2 Maths which scaled amazingly well. On the other hand I know friends who had an ATAR...
A little red book called University Entry Requirements 2010 (Year 10 Booklet) by UAC has what you are looking for. The subjects are basically in alphabetical order. The languages have the code 16xxx, distinction courses 25xxx, category B courses mainly 16xxx.
Likely. ATARs will be higher than their corresponding UAIs (except for right at the top).
According to the UAC Guide 2010, a 2008 UAI of 64.00 corresponds to a 67.05 ATAR.
I guess that is what it means. You should check with other people in your cohort though. If you think there's a problem, notify your principal/Board of Studies.
The assessment mark is equal to xth highest exam mark where your assessment rank is x.
In other words, say you were ranked 5th for your school assessment mark. This means you get the 5th highest exam mark as your assessment mark.
