    Do you have an Ext. 2 teacher/mentor you can talk to? Should talk to them. Also do you have a general idea of what you want to do? If you do, I'd suggest keep going for a bit - and if you don't have anything definitive to really start editing properly by the end of the term, drop it.

    You really, really shouldn't pick courses on "job prospects" because you may find that you experience what happened to me - boredom and disillusionment with it all, because you're not doing something you enjoy. Do what you like. Also, Finance's maths is piss easy anyway - now, a lot of people...

    You're supposed to. No, the conjugate of the denominator. If you multiply it by the denominator, you won't be able to simplify the fraction - try it yourself.

    If you multiply by 1-sqrt(3), you don't simplify the denominator. Also I evaluated the fraction.

    \frac{1+\sqrt{3}}{1-\sqrt{3}} = \frac{1+\sqrt{3}}{1-\sqrt{3}}\times\frac{1+\sqrt{3}}{1+\sqrt{3}} = \frac{1+2\sqrt{3}+3}{1-3}=-2-\sqrt{3}

    Yes but electrical engineering is apparently one of the more maths intensive engineering streams so you'll probably have to learn very quickly, or else.

    Yeah I don't know why the BSoc camp is so expensive... I'm organising one now and our ticket prices are $140 and $155. *shrug* Anyway, someone PM-ed me about O-Week BoS meat so you kids can meet up and have fun.
