    Mathematics Extension 2 Predictions

I hope so. Or at least I hope for more interesting and extended questions.

    Mathematics Extension 2 Predictions

I believe it will be applying complex numbers in order to derive some ridiculous inequality/identity/exact value of a trig ratio.

    Internal HSC mark prediction?

Hi all, I am trying to get an accurate idea of what my moderated internal mark may be for english advanced. School rank: ~150 through the years My internal rank: 19/60 Past school data for the subject: 2021: 3 Band 6s, 62% in Band 5 and 6, Average HSC mark = 81 2020: 2 Band 6s, 68% in Band 5...

    Exponential Function sketching

Infinity/Infinity is not the appropriate way to find limits, you need to consider dominance laws. Exponentials dominate algebraic terms which dominates logarithms. And the dominant factor is the one that dictates how the function behaves as x approaches infinity.

How many marks would you lose for not including the extract in mod a part of paper 2?

I wonder why they had included the image of the scholar speaking to the camera for LFR. Was that something you guys analysed visually for your analysis? Or did they just put it to orient students into what scene the dialogue was from?

    English Paper 2

My thoughts; Mod A - A bit of a unconventional extract but I liked it because it forced you to actually consider the textual conversation/interpretations (at least for KR3/LFR) Mod B - Pretty standard and adaptable. Although the idea of entrapment within Eliot's poetry forced me to think deeply...

BoS trials Maths and Chemistry 2022

For the Ext. 2 paper, MC question 4, aren't B and D equivalently correct answers?

    Complex 2

Continuing from that step, let the fraction be rcistheta, then... You could then say, similarly, for z-1/z+1=cis(3pi/4), z=cot(3pi/8) etc. Then you have derived all the 4 solutions.

CASIO fx-8200 AU - new calculator coming next year.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. Finding probability and z-scores, exact values, working with logs of any base, evaluating recurring decimals, calculating with series etc. are all supposed to be operations that you need to figure out, not have a calculator do for you.

For Eliot's poems in MOD B, is it two poems in an essay always the minimum?

Yes. You really can't have a good range of ideas if you only discuss 1 poem.

    waste of money?

The NESA "workbook" is not really a resource for practicing. It basically has the paper, full mark responses for each section as written by students in the exam, and some commentary from the markers. Basically it helps you see what makes a good response, but doesn't really help you practice your...

    Pen recommendations?

Pilot G2s are great! I recommend you try out the 0.7mm ink though, it's smoother which will help you to write faster.

How hard is year 12 economics?

The exam pages have thicker lines - I think 6 to 8 pages is about 900 words which is doable for anyone with exam pressure and enough planning.

How hard is year 12 economics?

If you've particularly enjoyed topics 4, 5 and 6 in prelim then I think you will enjoy hsc eco - it goes much beyond basics into the economics of the real world and the issues we face.

    Assistance with Prelim subjects

It's good that you enjoy and do well in mod 4 because a good part of hsc content is based on those concepts. You will need an understanding of mod 1 and 2 for mod 5, but it's easy enough to revise and if your new school is better then you should be able to do it well. Maths Ext. 2 is also...

    prelim yearly papers

I think maths is the only subject where prelim content effectively carries over to the hsc.

Is it wise for me to spend 20mins planning everything out including evidence for paper 1 like 20min inclusive essay and unseen if it means...

You shouldn't really need to plan for short answer (except maybe a quick outline in the column of your page for a 6 marker). I recommend planning the essay for about 5 minutes, but definitely not more than 10. Try doing practice trials so that you can get an idea of your own pacing and style.
