For future reference, would I be considered competitive with an ATAR of 93.7 and if I do well in my first year. Eg. I'm hoping to fucking step it up with a GPA of at least 6 at Newcastle University. I'm quite determined to get into UNSWS/USYD law.

I didn't even rabble on about context that much in my essay. At most it was a sentence or two with my point or intergrated into my arguement. :P

First year at Uni for me this year. Looked at my possible time table and I'm there most likely Monday-Thursday, with the least being 3 hours on monday. I'm not really complaining. I think i'll like uni :)

No. But it could possibly get to the point where it is such a small number that it is undetectable.

I memorised EVERY SINGLE one of my essays for the HSC and my creatives too. Except for ext, where I memorised theorised paragraphs and ideas :P And I ended up with 92 in adv eng! lol So much for weeding out pre-prepared answers. Oh, also, nice guide :) EDIT: If you DO memorise essays...

I did a lot better in the exams than throughout the year and got estimates around 94.4ish with the ATAR calculators but I guess If I had done that little much better (a couple of marks or so per subject), I would of been further from the mean and my marks would of scaled better. I was...

So, GPA functions in a similar way to bands do in the HSC? (eg band 5,6 etc)

I'm pretty sure we accept our offer, fill out all the paper work and stuff for the uni (most likely online) and get info about our subjects. THEN on enrolement day, we enrol at the uni and pick our subjects and timetables.
