    Holiday physics! :D

I'm doing this. Going through all four modules these holidays. So far I've finished the option topic that we did last term and i'm halfway through 'space'. I've just been reading through the textbook along with 'students guide to HSC physics' and i'll be doing questions once i'm done all four...

    Bromine Water Prac

The reason you got a variety of answers is probably because people classify Bromine water as several different substances e.g. Br2, HBr HOBr there is an obvious explanation for this as the equilibrium reaction for Water and Bromine is something like: Br2 + H2O <--> HBr + HOBr. The reason why...

Anyone have the Physics in Focus (HSC Course) Answers + Overview Mindmaps?

I have the CD and I have uploaded the answers and mindmaps to mediafire. The answers aren't of much use to people that don't own the book but the mindmaps are, considering this I don't feel comfortable sending the file to just anyone. If anyone still wants the answers and mindmaps PM me. Don't...

    My Astrophysics notes

P.S. Both left and right sides of the syllabus are covered. The left side is more explicitly covered and more easily located but I have put in the information you need to know for the right hand column in relevant text-boxes and threaded through the left hand side paragraphs.

    My Astrophysics notes

I uploaded some astrophysics notes to the resources page but in eagerness to get them out there and be done with it I did a shoddy job. So without further ado here is the new one. http://www.mediafire.com/?ka2yll96te679lz There aren't any drastic changes. The first 8 pages are for the most...

Anyone up for a Astrophysics Marathon?

This is so late and you've probably already got the answer but for all you curious onlookers the distinction is easy enough to understand. Adaptive Optics: Corrects for bending in the mirror due to gravity. This allows for lighter mirrors that aren't as thick that can be more easily moved...

Square root x^2 = Absolute value x. Explain please

by convention the square root is always positive x^2 = 16 in this case x can equal 4 or -4 sqrt(16)=x x can only equal to 4 you always take the positive or principle root when you're square rooting. It's weird and it only works by convention but that's how it is.

    Chem help

0.15g Butanol = 0.002 mol 0.002 mol = 5kJ 5,000 J = 100 x 4.18 x T T = 11.96 = 12 (approx) Final temperature is 33°C. When doing molar heat equations the mass just refers to the mass of the water as it is only the water that is being heated and the 4.18 J/g/C is a value for water only.

    Chemistry Questions

Re: half life multiple choice 1. One with the longest half life (ignore mass for this one). You won't be expected to memorise the half lives in the HSC, and you should probably find the answer by googling it. 2. C 40 days = 5 half lives. i.e. original mass was 1 x 2^5. = 32 g 3. D. The...

    Scientific Variables and diagrams

I don't think you'll need a table to write out your controlled, dependent and independent variables. Belonging thesis statement confusion

Your thesis is meant to be reactionary and based off the question. This means that a specific thesis might not suit a specific question. If you really want a thesis that can be applied to all questions you have to make it extremely general, e.g. 'Belonging is a vital part of being human and can...
