    All the material in Complex Analysis is covered in the first 7 chapters of that Brown and Churchill book. I thought it was a very good textbook when I did that course.

    If they'll let you, why not. Actually, why not see if they will let you into Higher Complex Analysis? I wouldn't bother to accelerate just for the ordinary level course. You could also consider taking Finite Maths if you have already done Discrete.

    Of course you can do it. You are saying that good 4u students should be able to do it. My point is that 4u students have no justification for assuming that they can do it.

    Well, it is a nice question, but you have to assume that you can do calculus with complex numbers in the same way that you do calculus with real numbers.

    Linear Algebra was one of my favourite second year maths subjects. I also liked Complex Analysis. I hated DEs, but in retrospect (since I am now trying to be an applied mathematician) it probably is useful. You might want to consider that subject where they teach you how to use MATLAB...

    You need to show that the curve passes through the same point for two different values of the parameter. In this case, if t=2, you get x=4, y=0. And if t=-2, you get x=4 and y=0, again. You would also need to show that both x(t) and y(t) are continuous functions of t in between these...

    I don't think you forgot to use partial fractions, but the inverse transform of \frac{s}{s^2+1} is cos t, not sin t.

    What a cesspit this uni is turning into! 12 week semesters and now exams on Saturdays. I am so glad I don't have to do coursework at UNSW any more.

    The seating is arranged at random. The invigilators give you a card with your seat number on it as you go in the door. I guess this is so that you can't arrange to sit next to your friends and get assistance from them in the exam. Since when did the uni start running exams on the weekend?
