I did a first year comp science subject @ anu this year. I have my own laptop, but if you're committed you could get away without one. If you decide to get one - The only problem is that we used software used on ubuntu for our programming. there are Win equivelents, but sometimes it won't work...

your argument doesnt make sence. You are saying that DFEE *doesnt* help fund CFE. Then you state that there are (now) more places given to DFEE. If the uni doesnt make a large gain from DFEE students (more that a CFE) then why would they allow it? Re-read your argument.

I had a look. I mean i couldn't actually find much. Most of the photos are just closeups of people inside pub/clubs - it doesnt really give you a good outside view of a social life. I spose you're quite curious about what we actually do. I mean theres probably about 4-5 mainstream night clubs...
