    Michelson Morley experiment

Just a quick question. why did they have to turn the apparatus 90 degrees? If they've already split the light into 2 waves, one going across and one going against aether, wouldn't that give them the interference they needed? What good does turning it do? Wouldnt it mean that still 1 light in...

    Subject workload advice plz.

physics and chemistry is definitely not hard. as long as you understand the topics + you can memorise the details, you'll do fine. a word in advance, start memorising the scientist's contributions and experiments as soon as you learn them. just speaking from experience here....during the...

    Is 14 Units too much?

i suppose it kinda depends on how good you are with the chosen subjects. if you are really good, then i suppose you can balance the time needed nicely. it doesnt matter really, since you are dropping 1 for hsc anyway. just make sure you know what to drop so you don't put too much effort in to...

    phy, chem or bio?

i do all 3 so i think i can give you a rough view into all of them personally, i like bio the best because i'm interested in medicine and the yr 12 course has more to do with it than the prelim. its also the easiest imo (common sense mostly) i find that chem has more memorisation required than...

Biology hsc: The most effective way to study?

i like to do past papers. as many as possible and get your teacher's feedback. this way, i can find out which sections i need revising and how to answer questions better - win win :D reading other people's notes also help imo

Arhhh!! I struggle with circle geometry!!

i find that the best way to deal with circle geometry is to work backwards. what i mean by this is that when you see the question, you have to think to your self what rule will prove this. knowing what properties must prove makes it a lot easier imo. you can try turning the page around, just to...

    Hertz experiment.

how did hertz show that EMR is polar? i reckon the jacaranda book is just useless in this topic, they never really explain clearly how this or that works...

Two questions, voltage & AC transmission

that's when you told me voltage is not potential difference... so voltage is electrical potential difference, and the pressure or push behind the electrons?

black body intensity vs wavelength graph & hertz's experiment

in the graph given by jacaranda (i don't know how to post images on here so ill just describe it...), the graph showed intensity vs wavelength. as the wavelength decrease towards zero, ie frequency increases, the intensity shoots up, hits a peak, then falls back down. i'm given to understand...

Two questions, voltage & AC transmission

ok, i think i get it. but to be precise, what is the difference between potential difference and electrical potential difference. because at the beginning, u said that voltage is not a potential difference, but an electrical potential difference.
