ok thanks for all the replies and suggestions guys!. at the moment i'm not going to waste 10K each year for full fee access, so i'm planning to apply for a transfer via UAC, to move from commerce to commerce/law within UNSW. If that doesnt work then i'll just do graduate law.

ah ok, so i'm allowed to transfer from commerce to commerce/law internally but i have to do it via UAC right and transfer externally... that gives me some hope then.

realistically i'm quite positive about achieving a uai of 97-98 which is 1-2 points below the cut off for commerce/law at UNSW. So i dont know if the extra 12000 is worth it for these extra 2 points. so what are the other options besides full fee that i have so that i can get into...

so that means its impossible for me to transfer internally from commerce to commerce/law at UNSW? Even if i have a uai close to the cut off (1-2 points lower) and getting distinction averages in the first year?

i just took a look at unsw website: https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/fees/Hecs.html and for law on hecs it says $6,283, but on full fee according to the UAC guide it says it will cost around $18 000 a year. thats a difference of 12 000 each year just because you get the lowered uai of a few...

how much more expensive is full-fee as compared to HECS?

do you guys know how to convert dvd ripped movies (divx , xvid) into vcd so that i can watch it on my tv instead of the computer? thanks

so if you pay full fee you dont actually get the 20% discount?

my friend told me that when you pay full fee, you dont actually get the 20% discount, rather you only get the lowered UAI. He told me that you get the discount only if you pay the HECS up front..

but the concern i have with exetel is that it doesnt have shaping, and they charge you $3 for each extra gb that is downloaded. so the iinet PiPe... can you download good stuff from that?

yeh i'm thinking either 17" LCD or 19" CRT.. yeh i will be playing some pretty hardcore games on the sytem, Doom 3 etc. But do you guys think 1gb of ram is necessary? should i get amd athlon or p4? other than that i have no idea about video cards, sound cards etc.
