What study guides should i get?

For maths, i'm personally not a fan of excel's HSC books, ext1 and ext2 anyway, i'm not sure what their 2U one's like. I have the excel ones and i think i only used them once. I really like 'Understanding Year 12 Maths'-Dr. Max Shur, that covers 2U and ext1. And the Coroneos books with past hsc...

    Not making it...

I think i'd be pretty crushed at first, about 8-9, just because of the amount of effort i've poured into school over the last 13 years, for it to end up not counting for anything would be horrible. But i think given a few days i'd get over it and choose one of my back up plans. Although that...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

-People incapable of maintaining a consistent speed. -People that believe they have right of way on a round-a-bout regardless of oncoming traffic or where they are entering the round-a-bout from. -People with a serious need to be in front of as many cars as possible, even if it will not increase...

    4 Page booklets?

Yeah i used 11 booklets as well. But i put my hand up for one as soon as i started on the last page of a booklet so i didn't have to stop writing and wait so i didn't really lose any time. It just took a million years to put my student number on the top of every page after the exam.

    Nerdy and blonde mistakes?

Yes!!! it took me so long to get used to switching between radians and degrees, one of my friends and i drew large arrows on our calculators pointing to the bit on the screen that shows whether it's in radians or degrees because we kept screwing questions up.

    Nerdy and blonde mistakes?

Oh i hate things like that! Or doing a page worth of working and getting the wrong answer, working on it for ages, only to find out you made one of those basic 1+1 errors in the first line which fucked everything else up.

    physio?

Yeah i've got physio at UWS as my first preference. I've heard they're estimating the cut off to be around 95-96, just a bit lower than Sydney.

    Nerdy and blonde mistakes?

My best friend and i had a few blonde moments when it came to year 11 chem practicals.... there was the time she was seeing how close she could get a candle to her face causing her to set her fringe on fire... there was the time we were setting up for an experiment and sat the bunsen burner on...

    Nerdy and blonde mistakes?

I totally agree, my ext2 half yearly, complex numbers question... 2x2=2... that one mistake then meant my answer was entirely real, then part b asked about the imaginary part of the solution... what makes it worse is i then went through my working to try and find where i made the mistake... but...

Writing student number on every page??

Sounds like your exam supervisors are about as good as your teachers :) We've been doing all of ours after the exam finishes, no one's had a problem with it. Although i didn't put them at the top of every page after ext2, i think i was in shock when i finished, so it just didn't occur to me...

How Bad is the HSC stress for you?

Yeah it varies for me, moving between about a 4 and a 10. The main thing that's stressing me out is not feeling as prepared as i thought i would be, and the constant sinking feeling that the past 13 years of my life are going to be a complete waste because i'm not going to get into the course i...

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1

I was pretty happy with it. Loved Q's 1-4, 5 was good. The bloody binomials in 6 killed me, and i didn't get the last bit of 7 out. I'm just hoping i didn't make too many stupid errors.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

Me either! Well i'm glad it wasn't just me, i nearly killed myself while sitting there looking at 7 marks in question 1 that i couldn't do. Most frustrating thing of all is pretty much as soon as i got in my car afterwards i knew how to do them. :mad1:

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 2

I have no idea how i found it honestly. I didn't find the paper too bad as a whole, but i'm pretty disappointed, i don't think i did anywhere near as well as i should of, threre were a fair few questions i struggled with that i really should of been able to do.

    2000 hsc?

Yeah, i recall that paper crushing any sense of confidence i'd established. Let's hope tomorrow isn't like that. Yes! i've got my fingers crossed there won't be a question 7 or 8 probability, i hate probability with a passion. +1

    Does Coffee help anyone study?

Yeah i basically live off coffee during times i need to get a lot of study done (this week for example) it calms me down, gives me energy and keeps me focussed. Personally i'd be lost without it, but it doesn't work for everyone. Best way to know if it works is to try it out yourself and see if...

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2 (Modules)

I was happy with the paper, a lot easier than i was expecting. Loved the Hamlet question, i thought the Frankenstein and Blade Runner one was good too, i wrote about a booklet and a half for each of those, massively ran out of time for History and Memory though due to barely being able to get...
