    The Dream Thread

Re: Weird dreams.... I've had a few dreams that I can still recall in a lot of detail. All of them involve me having to solve a crime of some kind. A few nights ago, I had a dream that there was a serial killer running loose around the UTS Faculty of Science. I was running through the halls...

    University Open days, anyone?

I have some friends who work with the UTS Union. Maybe I could get one of those shirts through them, sounds awesome. I'd really rather you didn't make creepy comments about my lecturers o_O

    University Open days, anyone?

Would be intersting to know who was doing the seminars/lectures for science at UTS today. I can imagine some of my lecturers accidentally scaring off potential students. And they were giving out free shirts at UTS today? lol.

    Best Science uni!!..help?

UTS has a fairly decent reputation in physics: UTS: Department of physics and advanced materials, Science Although UNSW would probably be the best uni to go to for that. Look around and see what interests you.

Does UTS hold any activities for students like camps and are there any groups?

As far as I know, there aren't any camps for the science faculty. I found it pretty easy to make friends, especially in lab classes where you'll be at the same bench every week. Get along with them, they'll be your lab partner/in your group for the rest of the semester. And no, our lab coats...

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2009)

Probably won't be at tomorrow's meet. I've come to the realisation that I'm getting very close to falling behind in some of my subjects, and so will have to spend more time studying if I'm going to get anything above a pass. I need to get my GPA/WAM up in order to be able to apply for a research...

How can i study chemistry??plzz help

I basically taught myself chemistry, my teacher was hopeless. Around 2 months before the HSC, I realised that we hadn't learned anything in class, and if I was going to pass chemistry, I'd have to do it all myself. If I could do it, anyone can. Get yourself a copy of the syllabus, your...

    phy, chem or bio?

It's not yet at the point that it's become completely irrelevant, but some parts of the syllabus are starting to become redundant (especially in physics). It gives a reasonably good foundation for uni if you're considering a science based course, but if you're not planning for something like...

    phy, chem or bio?

Uni has made me realise that HSC science is for the most part just one big history lesson :(

    phy, chem or bio?

Like everyone else has said, base it around interest and future uni plans. For me, HSC chem wasn't really hard, just extremely annoying. Chemistry is especially useful in uni, I can go through most of my chem lectures without too much confusion having done HSC chem. It's in between physics and...

    zazzy needs a small favor

They seem like pretty straightforward questions, so you should be able to find those answers in your textbook... But anyway: 1. International laws are set out by treaties. Said treaties are proposed, written and set by international organisations such as the UN. They can only apply to the...

    Subject selections: Which one? STUCK!

Don't worry so much about scaling, it only plays a small part in calculating your final marks. Focus more on interest. You're more likely to succeed in a subject you're actually interested in. I found that physics was the easier of those two science subjects, but if you don't like maths, then...

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2009)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Ben Netanyahu again. :( Yeah, that's a fairly accurate description of us. Except I'm not too sure about the syphillis part. Oh, and I'm guessing that you're going to hate me too now for planning to take up biochemistry next year...

BOS meet. This wed 12th august 12pm-2pm

Oh snap, I forgot about that. Which means I always have to stay on your good side lest you start blackmailing me. I'll come this week, as long as I don't have to drink.

Okay, so I just remembered that I still have the PokitPal that I was supposed to give Rafy months ago, and I need to go to the Co-op bookstore on Broadway (again). So I shall make an appearance this week =]

Not too sure if I'll be there this time. I might decide to be antisocial this week and attempt to study during my break. We'll see though.

I think it was you who once said: Squeenie drinking? She'd have half a glass first, get slightly tipsy, finish the drink then refuse to drink any more. lol, so true.
