Yes, this has happened to me before. I borrowed two books from the library last semester, yet according to my library borrower i had only returned one. I then emailed the library about it and they said they would search for the book in the library. I then recieved this email from them a week later:

You should buy it now so you don't have to wait in long queues or go through the hassle of waiting for sold out textbooks.

Oh, I forgot the mention that there's a new convenor for the unit (I heard it's Annabelle Lukin, but i'm not sure) so the course might be different now. But yeah, it's a good unit and i still recommend you to study it. :)
