am i benefitting myself by helping those ranked above me??

depends on where u r currently ranked. I'd say if your at the top of the top then don't really bother, just focus on urself since thats probably what most people similar ranked to you do anyways. Plus, it doesn't really add any benefits if you help like the bottom ranked students since you...

    subject selection: physics

the only related (sort of) between maths and physics is projectile motion and basic motion and forces. The rest (other than like 4u mechanics) don't really have any correlation. it also has a lot less theory than chem.

UNSW compsci/comm OR engineering/compsci vs USYD engineering + space engineering

i took commerce and economics in yr10& 11 and found it decently enjoyable (definitely not my preferred, but I didn't mind the lessons), the only reason i dropped was because I got into 4u (which I was not planning on) and my enginnering rank was a bit better than my economics (considering i put...

Should I drop down to Standard English?

whatever u get in advanced is not gonna be worse than if you do standard in terms of atar (unless if you plagiarise that is, and you get the a mark of 0, but arguably that is still not worse than standard since its the same)

    Band 5/6 possibilities

Yeah just depends on where ur ranks are rn. If your internals are all predicted to be mid to high 80s then yes definitely, but if its any lower than that its gonna be pretty difficult if I'm being realistic.

UNSW compsci/comm OR engineering/compsci vs USYD engineering + space engineering

Since I finished my last school exam last Friday, I thought I'd take the weekends off to think about which courses to do in uni. I went to the UNSW open day and from what I've gathered only a select few actually interests me. As of right now, these are the main courses I have in mind (tho...

    Maths mistake book?

sometimes sharing mistakes handbook w friends is also a great way, since most people struggle with the same questions. This way you get more exposure to more niche problems

IS THERE STILL HOPE FOR ME? (atar estimate)

Yea maybe, but he also extends this thinking to other ranks. Top 30 in 4u is equivalent top 30 in 2u, top 10 in english is equivalent to top 10 in modern history, he doesn't account for difficulty/scaling whatsoever, just pure ranks which is inaccurate. And plus, the maximum mark he gave...

whats in the drdu entrance exam y10

i swear this question comes up every week or so 💀 no its not hard, its just topics that you learn at school - so learn ahead if you havent yet/if your schools slow. they examine everything that is assessable in yr10

    Subject selection

u should always try to do more in yr11, that way you can just drop if you dont enjoy it anymore for y12. If you just pick the minimum amount required, and you end up hating a subject, you'll still be forced to do it for yr12. And yes, 4u is only for yr12, so you have an extra unit
