    Info advice about melbourne uni's

yes you are allowed to do it, and you will get one offer (in each round if applicable) from both instistutions. To find out info, go to the uac site, the interstate bit and click on Victoria, and it will take you to the VTAC site which has links to all the melbourne Unis. I think melbourne...

    help!

i'd leave it as your first preference, but i wouldnt count on it. Not to be pessimistic but thats a a pretty competitive course, and you are a fair way from last years cut off. If too many other EAS students with better UAI's than your apply then you might be shunned. Dont mean to dampen your...

    Live away from home money

yeah, the system is crap, you cant get money until you have lived away from home for a year and struggled on your own eating rice and brown bread, and then centrelink see you and say "oh yeah, you're poor, we might help you now that you are starving!"

Possible to change from Full fee to HECS?

yep its possible, its the same as transferring courses, you have to get credit average etc, and you have to compete to get in, its not an automatic thing

Hehe.. this site getting mentioned on smh.. interesting

i reckon most of the stuff the people said was pretty true, i mean, the questions are pretty much the same, and you dont have to know the texts very well, and people do copy from the internet. Me personally? i'd much prefer to study a text in depth and write an essay on it, as in the old HSC...

    Repeating Year 12

i think you can do subjects you didnt do the prelim for, but in the HSC exam, the prelim stuff is assumed knowlege, so you would be at a disadvantage.

    transfer possiblility ?

i think it depends also on the similarity of the courses, like if you wanted to change from hort to Ag, its easy coz in the first year all your subjects are the same.

    Live away from home money

i think the limit is much lower than $55k, my mum earned $30k this year and i lost my youth allowance. My sis gets it though because she became independant by earning more than $15000 in a year.

    transfer possiblility ?

yep, theres another thread on this somewhere. My friends trandfered from horticulture to Agriculture just by walking into the faculty office and asking to change. easy peasy. no credit average or anything. but i am trying to transfer into vet, and that is a whole other ball game... depends on...

    EAS apliactions

most uni's require you to have two "disadvantages" to be eligible for their schemes, so people who just went to a crappy school etc arent elligible. Last year there were 5 ppl from my school who applied, all who were deserving - eg - me - i was on max youth allowance all through high school, and...

    Educational Access Scheme

I think that depends on the Uni too, last year i got it for Usyd and they didnt say how many points you could get, only that you had been accepted

    2003 UAIs

If you cant get in anywhere (consider uni's such as la trobe etc, and transferring) I would re-do my HSC. I know right now thats a big ask, but if you did like 6 units over, it could push you into the 70's and then you could get into Uni. and once you are in, you are set.

    2003 UAIs

Thats so mean man, to bitch at someone who has just worked their arse off all year just to be dissapointed is way harsh. Maybe in a few weeks she will cheer up and look at all the back door entry methods, but for now, she has had her dreams shatterred and has the right to whinge. If you dont...

    2003 UAIs

yeah, just say 98 to whoever asks, no one remembers the last 2 digits anyways, only the first two, so if you say 97.95 people will just remember 97.00, which doesnt do you justice.
