    I'm following... I think, except up to this bit: I'm not sure why, when you multiply the units, they cancel out. I'd understand if you had division, eg. g/mole divided by mole, maybe the moles would cancel... (if that's at all correct)... but when its being multiplied... huh?

    That's true. Though to 'check' a reaction's indeed at equilibrium, you can do things like add radioactive reactants, and after awhile discover that they become part of the products. That's when you know the whole thing hasn't simply stopped, but is actually in equilibrium.

    Thanx :) I wasn't thinking too much first time round and for some reason decided, 'cause it gives you the no. moles and the volume, I found the 'the HI concentration' (which wasn't really the answer) without using K. I can see it gets you totally the wrong answer... but... why? ^^ Well...
