MATH1251 90 :) this is my first HD in the uni .

well, there are some good things abt UNSW but also some bad bits. i personally don't dislike UNSW but i can't say i like it very much. UNSW needs to pay attention to its student welfare.

if you r confident with yout maths, go 2 do actuarial as ur another major. you will find that lots of stuff u do in actuarial are exactly the same as in finance. such as the present value, yields and bond prices etc etc

so we were ranked 4th in aus. last year we were ranked 150th sth in the world, was also 4th in aus, behind ANU, Melb and Usyd. Lots of the asian uni s start catching the attention this year

i did q 5 today. i just wrote what is on the textbook abt the keynesian and monetarist, and new keynesian and new classical.. except i didn't read the japanese recession crap. and i just guessed that to be according to the RBC theory. and wrote another 5-6 lines for the last part of Q5...

i think most ppl did pretty well in midsession when looking at the marks. The big difference is that final will be marked by lecturers and they are much more stricter than our tutors.... that z why i feel so annoy 2 explain of the point movement... wish everyone good luck in his / her...

Just have a feeling that macro z not gonna be easy as in midsession. they expect us 2 explain the movement of the point on those graphs.

I will not be fine when seeing the macro pricing question. ;) i did the whole assignment myself and spent around 5+ hours trying to read and understand the chalke article. But in the exam, it z almost impossible for me to reproduce the assignment just by memory. and no many ppl would be...

I did actuarial today, 1001 i dun understand what z the point of making this exam so hard.......... does sachi just wanna no body be doing actuarial next year or sth ??? I ve tried from 99's paper til 2003's and i m pretty sure today's paper was much much harder than those ones...

it z rite. Pure actuarial major is too narrow for ppl to end up having an actuarial job. Usually actuarial ppl would do double degree or double majors and it z helpful to find a better job. can i ask a question here? Is that easy to get the coop scholarship without lot of extra curricular...

i know Macq uni is better in specialised actuarial teaching. But usually those overseas companies prefer ppl from some uni which are wellknown. in the world university ranking, UNSW is ranked far ahead of Umacq. Actuarial is a course which u can succeed if you r good at maths and work...

sorry, I know it sounds disappointing. referring to that piano video, all the ppl who play piano well said Jay's piano is far lower than Li Yun Di. Just don't understand why Jay trying to perform with No.1 pianist in china, it z really a bad idea for him not to stick with singing.
