I was in a similar situation as u in yr11. I was always ranked in the bottom 30s in maths before yr11, and never though I'd be able to do mx2. But I guess i just popped off for some of the tests and hey now its dragging up my atar so I cant complain 😂 Otherwise, Good Luck for ur studies and exams!

    royally screwed

If its 40-45% then it is doable, but u will need at roughly a top 10 mark to cancel out ur ranks rn That is still better than if it was worth 30%, because even if u get rank1 it might not be able to pull u to top 50

    Photoelectric effect

Is it correct in explaining that as frequency increases, stopping voltage also increases through the following method. Kmax=eVstopping, and Kmax=hf-phi, therefore hf-phi=eVstopping. Since h,phi are all constants, if we increase frequency, Vstopping must increase? The question was asking me to...

    royally screwed

Are you bottom 25% of the grade for maths? If so, it might be a little bit worrying. Suppose your cohort is like 150 people, that means ur current ranked around 110ish. To jump 60 ranks from just one test, you will need to pray its really difficult so that the median is incredibly low and you do...

    trig question

If you don't know exact values, then I'd suggest just plug into ur calculator, then find all the possible solutions in the quadrants (ASTC)

can you self study 4u and still get a high E4/B6

Yes, but its really up to you and how much effort you are willing to put in. I'm was never a person who was good at maths, so I decided to seek for tutor help, but at the end of the day if you are able to put in the hours and gather resources I don't see any reason for you not to get a good...

Am I able to make a comeback for 3U Maths in trials?

Yea so extending from my previous comment, getting a similar result to what you got in term 1 might pull you up to that e4 range, depending on how everyone else does ofc. (i.e. If median mark was like 60% and you got a 95%, it is very possible. However, if they decided to make the test easier...

do internal ranks matter a lot?

getting 95 for externals is going to be difficult if your internals is like a 85, but it can be done. Some people pop off in the hsc and it drags up their atar, while my friends in the year above were looking for a 99.5 atar pre-hsc and managed to fuck it up so bad they barely got a 99...

do internal ranks matter a lot?

Basically, lets consider 3 scenarios, one of which you are in... and this is what my teacher told us. If you are ranked at the top, lets say ranked top 15 out of a150 cohort, then all you have to worry about is the people at the top. try to keep people similar ranked to you doing good so you are...

    Combinatorics Questions

I feel like with these types of questions, its so hard to get started, but once you see the solutions its makes so much sense that you question how you didn't even get it. 😂

Normanhurst boys high entrance test 2019

90 hrs of studying is insane, I definitely do less than that just for one exam. As for past papers, you can find them on thsc, they have a bunch for yr11 :) (tho im not sure if you mean yr10 papers intead, then you might need to ask someone who acutally goes to the school).

    Mod 7 Trial Q

Okay so lets first define path difference - its the difference in the path by the two waves. So PQR travels a total of 38m, while PR only travels 30. So whats the path difference? Its 8m Now we are given frequency, and using c=fλ we can find wavelength. Plugging into the calculator gives you...
