    English has been Ridiculed

A dollar for each mark you want to get. Note that it only works for total marks - so slipping $5 doesn't improve your marks by 5, but it makes your mark 5. Learned that the hard way.

    English has been Ridiculed

UPDATE - Mark remains unchanged boys! I actually risked losing some marks for "bad conduct" (Even though nothing I did was against school rules), but alas, the mark remains unchanged.

Answer to this legal studies question

Can someone tell me the best way to remember solubility rules??

Firstly, you gotta remember SNAAP - That is, Sodium, Nitrate, Ammonium, Acetate and Potassium are always soluble (That is, any salt made with these are always completely ionised with exceptions below). Then, anions that are always soluble include Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine (The Halogens) and...

    MATH HELP!!

What past paper is it for? (Year, School) From what I see, this must be referring to 2 separate questions (Because there is no line with that derivative that satisfies both conditions you put up) As such, what you do is you integrate 18x + 4. This then gives you some primitive function with a...

    English has been Ridiculed

My issue isn't with the mark being bad, it is that two english teachers can have such a variance in their ideas, i.e. one teacher literally praises it as God's work and the other gives it a 17/20. With such variation, no-one can reasonably expect students to do consistently well, and especially...

    English has been Ridiculed

Fellow BoS users, The story I am about to tell you will sound unbelievable - many will call me liars, I will be called an idiot, my own brother didn't believe me (But like you know, brothers), but I can confirm it is true. I have omitted names for obvious reasons, but I hope my point comes...

    Vectors

How does that work? I think you are missing the step where you say that a and b are not the same, so a-b cannot be 0, and since c= Mag(b)mag(c)*cos(theta)/B, the only possible value that can make that 0 is when cos(theta)=0, meaning it is perpendicular. See video for an answer (How I solved it):

Why does sugar dissolve in Cyclohexane

    Perfect, thank you so much!

Why does sugar dissolve in Cyclohexane

Wait sorry - another question - does the solubility depend on the correlation of the force, i.e. all substances have dispersion forces, so is it only the substances with very big dispersion forces dissolve in substances that work in dispersion force? Is it that a substance, say cyclohexane...

Why does sugar dissolve in Cyclohexane

So would this mean that say HF in solid form would dissolve in H2O since they both have hydrogen bonds?

Why does sugar dissolve in Cyclohexane

Stupid question, but why do stronger bonds/intramolecular forces/intermolecular forces mean that sugar dissolves in cyclohexane?

Why does sugar dissolve in Cyclohexane

Hi, I am in year 11, and recently we had to do a practical where we determined the type of bonds 6 UNKNOWN substances made. (Metallic bonds, ionic bonds, covalent molecular, covalent lattice). The tests were: Solubility in cyclohexane Solubility in Water Conductivity as a solid Conductivity...

    Vectors

If you would like some hard questions, you should look at a lot of geometric proofs and try to prove it with vectors, i.e. prove in an isosceles triangle, the angle bisector of the angle made by the 2 equal sides is perpendicular to the unequal side, and it bisects it. It sounds easy, but most...

    Islamophobia

Hi, Does anyone have any notes or good links to places where I can find information on the topic, "Assess the impact of Islamophobia on individual/society?" I need to write 3 paragraphs on it and I don't really know where I should go with it. Thanks!

Common Mistakes in differentiation and trigonometry

Differentiation - Usually nothing, but if you don't have the identities down pat, then it can be annoying (i.e. sec(x), cot(x), inverse functions, etc) Auxiliary Angle - Not remembering all the different formulas (Many people only remember a few since some can be derived, however in an exam it...

    3x3 grid, pigeonhole principle

I'll get to your first set (Going to class now), but for your second question, consider N items on a conveyer belt. You now have 8 dividers, which can be placed in any of the positions between or on either side of the items. The distance between 2 dividers is a value in a cell of the square. How...

Year 11 Permutations (arrangements in a circle)

Firstly, label them A,B,C,D,E. The question is intentionally pissing you off. I assume it means the seats at the table are not unique, that is A,B,C,D and E is the same as B,C,D,E and A. a) This is a simple 4!, since position doesn't matter. b) By this, I assume it means directly right. As such...
