    Dropping a subject-physics

I dropped physics in year 12, no regrets. Having ten units just means having more time for all your subjects. I guess it would hurt to keep it for the first few weeks, and drop it before the first major assessment if you're finding that it's not worth it to keep physics. Good luck ! -jenny. :)

    HSC Tips

Hello I think by now it is too late to make notes for chemistry and biology, since they are quite content heavy. Many people have posted their notes up on boredofstudies, http://ahmadshahidil.com/ 's notes are pretty good also. I suggest you revise with those. It really depends on how...

How to prepare for English trials?

I think memorising essays should be your very last option if you have literally and absolutely friggen no idea what english is about at all. What I suggest doing is having a list of quotes + technique + analysis/explanation for each text you're studying. Take a look at some past questions...

    Fort Street Entrance Exams

From what I remember about the entrance exam, most students did not finish both the maths and english exam. Personally: I found the exams pretty difficult, but I was still reserved a placement for an interview. There are a lot of questions, so try to attempt everyone, but if you can't, don't...

Subject Selection - Science Or Business?

Not sure if srs. Rote learning biology won't get you very far in the HSC. -Yeah, you would be wearing a suit and tie everyday! -'Business' is quite broad. Which area of business are you interested in? It might be useful to look into that. I think that most of the time, your idea of what a...

What are the benefits of doing 4 unit maths?

I took Extension 2 Maths in year 12 last year. It was very time consuming for me, in fact it probably took up most of my study time and it was still my lowest HSC score overall (88), and I still don't understand most of it. That was quite the experience. I don't regret it though, because I took...

How hard is it to transfer from BSc to BMedSci?

Hey, To transfer from one science degree to another at UNSW, you will need a 75+ weighted average mark (of all the subjects you are undertaking), and after completing one year of that science degree you have enrolled in. However, at UNSW, you cannot transfer into Medical Science - either you...

Q: How does one regain motivation for studying?

I think you need a bit of a breather. Go out and meet some friends, or do something else like watch a movie to take your mind of study for a little bit. :)

    Current ATAR

It's hard to say, you could be anywhere between the low to high 90s. I think your best bet right now would be to ask your teachers. If you're aiming for the highest atar possible, I'd say, use friends who are doing well in higher ranked schools (<100) as a point of reference e.g. compare the...

Probably should do it yourself, but answering these questions might help you: -reason for being there - are you searching for something? trying to hitch a ride? got kidnapped and woke up to find yourself here? -how long you've already stayed - i.e. are you physically drained? emotionally? why...

    Should I Drop Ext2 Mathematics/Atar Prediction

If you are finding that you are spending a lot of time trying to understand the concepts, or have difficultly doing so, I would suggest dropping it. That way, you can direct your focus onto your other subjects and potentially do much better than if you were to keep mx2. :)
